I unlock the front door, walking into my house and slamming the door behind me. My parents aren't back from work yet, and Kaidan will probably be at one of their friend's house, so I'll be alone for some time, which I don't mind.

I run upstairs, dropping my bag on the floor beside my bed and kicking my shoes off, fishing my phone out of my bag, then lying back on my bed. I smile to myself, because, for the first tie in years, I have a new friend, and I like this one very much.

I don't know why I told him that I'm gay, because, in actual fact, it's a bit of a secret, only my friends know, but he is my friend, even if we have only known each other for a few hours. I scroll through my phone, checking my messages, which, to my surprise, I actually have one.

Unknown- hey, it's Phil, the random kid from today ;p

- hi!!

I change his name in my phone quickly.

Phil- so, what's up?

- nothing really, just lying in bed and talking to you. i'm home alone lol

- you?

Phil- same, but I can hear a bunch of cars speeding past my house, ughgghhg

I laugh. It really is funny how I can't do anything without being reminded of sounds, more particularly, that I don't hear them.

- okay. i have a shit tonne of homework so i think i'm gonna go

Phil- bye!! c u tomorrow??

- yeahh!!

I switch off my phone and place it face down on my bedside table, standing up to open my bag yet again. I check to see if I have any homework, which I was almost certain I did, but alas, no. I have a smile that I can't seem to wipe away. I don't even know the boys last name. All I know is that he's called Phil, he's awkward in an attractive way, he constantly fixes his fringe, he's just very attractive, and he's bi, which is a secret he's only told me, and I don't know why.
