FILE 4: GHOSTLY HOUSE

#2: WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES

MAI'S POV

"Maligayang pagdating sa Pilipinas (Welcome to the Philippines)" someone who I assumed was our guide to the case said. A few weeks ago Naru made us study for almost 8 hours on how to speak Tagalog. And God it was so stressful, and Naru being the perfect narcissistic being he is actually knows how to speak it.

"Maraming salamat. Ikaw ba ang magtuturo samin ng bahay ng client namin? (Thank you very much. Are you the one who is gonna show us the client's house?)" I only understand a few words like bahay (house) and the client as well as the maraming salamat (thank you very much) part. It was very hard to understand Tagalog. And I only understand a bit of English. Oh, I wish they have a translator at their office.

We got into a white van and another van housed the equipment. We were going to the place they called Mandaluyong City and were going to stay in the client's house.

After a few hours of butt-aching travel, we finally got off the car and smelled the air, okay it was not fresh. But, it was different from what I imagined it to be. They had public transportation called jeeps. They looked like big vans only, they were made of metal (well all vehicles are) and designed with much colorful art which was awesome by the way. They also had tricycles which are not present in Japan. These tricycles were driven by motors that had compartments attached to them.

But what shocked me was the house we were staying at. It didn't seem haunted, with no evil aura, no miasma hanging around. Like any other ordinary house but it was huge. Imagine four houses with three floors stuck together as one home. Yeah, it was that big. We got inside and everything screamed 'EXPENSIVE LUXURY ONLY RICH PEOPLE CAN AFFORD'. This didn't even look like one bit of a haunted house! Why would these people call someone from overseas just to look at their overly luxurious stuff! Okay, I'm being dramatic. Well, I'm pregnant. Sue me. (Note the sarcasm)

They let us use two rooms, one for the equipment, and the other one for our personal stuff. We divided the room into two with a ratio of 6:4 beds. The four belonged to me, Masako, Ayako, and Madoka, and the six beds belonged to Naru, Gene, Lin, John, Bou-san, and Yazu. (Yeah I call him that). After finally settling in, we prepared to set up the cameras in different rooms inside the house but being the father he was going to be, Naru made me stay by his fricking side. Which was sweet by the way, he cared more about the babies than the case.

"You are not allowed to come out of this security room without me. Or Gene. Or Bou-san" he said while briefing us on the case. The de Leon family had experienced multiple paranormal activities, which had poltergeists, and banging doors. The usual stuff that happens inside the house except when it all stops, it seems that the house doesn't seem broken. No broken door hinges and vases that should have been shattered fixed themselves like nothing wrong happened.

'MAI... MAI...' an eerie voice started calling out to me and I don't know why but my body began to move on its own. Naru noticed it and I suddenly skidded across the floor like some force was pulling me.

"Naru! Help!" I shouted as I tried to dispel the ominous force pulling me.

"Rin, Pyo, Toh, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Sai, Zen!!" I chanted and it disappeared. I felt myself growing weak.

"Hush, little ones... It's going to be okay... It's going to be okay." I said as I caressed my tummy where my children are. I cast a barrier around them. Yes, the barrier is inside my tummy.

"Mai!" Naru shouted as he knelt beside me. His eyes were filled with fear. Fear of losing me.

"I'm not going anywhere Naru, and neither are our children," I said to him and he cradled me like a little child carrying me bridal style.

"You always make me worry, you know that," he said as he kissed my forehead and I smiled at him.

"Mai! Are you okay?!?" Gene suddenly went beside me and he held my hand.

"Mai... Your children... I can't see their auras.." Gene said and I laughed. I released the barrier spell and Gene's tense shoulders relaxed.

"Idiot, don't use barrier spells that are too strong to fool me!" Gene said and he went to Masako. Ever since I learned I was pregnant, I've practiced strengthening my barrier spells. I know and Naru knows that my children are born psychics. The future will be very hard for them especially if they are the children of two psychics. That's why I try to protect them as much as I can. They can feel the pain already even if they're inside my womb. They can sense ominous spiritual energy. Heck, they're more aware of danger than I am. They've become my radar.

"I got it, I got it... Just trying to protect my babies" I said to Gene and he snickered.

"Babies, it's funny thinking that once in a blue moon, I didn't think Naru would have a fiancee, let alone babies. He's emotionless you know!" Gene said whining dramatically. I laughed and Naru scowled. Oh, Naru he was so right.

Naru put me down on the sofa and gently patted my tummy. I felt a stronger barrier than the ones I used and I felt much safer knowing that my little ones are safe.

Suddenly, a girl, about seventeen appeared by the door.

"Magandang hapon po.. Ay! Mali po pala... Umm... Konnichiwa (Good afternoon.. Oh! I was wrong.. Umm.. Good afternoon[in Japanese])" the girl that had wavy black hair and chestnut colored eyes, as well as the whitest complexion ever, said. I heard that Filipinos usually have darker skin because of the tropical heat they receive all year long. But this girl was in the "none of the above" description.

And above all else, she knows how to speak Japanese! This is insanity. She's a multi-lingual person.

"Good afternoon to you too" I greeted casually and she smiled showing her complete set of teeth. Okay, she was beyond perfect. I'm a girl and I'm attracted to her but when I looked at Naru I almost laughed. He still had the same stoic expression everyone loved. And what I loved about him.

"Oh, so you're the investigators... Ahahah. My name's Aria, the daughter of your clients.. I came by to tell you that dinner is ready and you can join us if you want." She said sweetly and in straight Japanese. Okay, she was awesome. I like her already.

We walked towards the dining hall on the other side of the house and Aria kept on talking animatedly with us.

"You know you guys look similar to the characters in an anime I just recently watched and like you guys they solve mysteries about ghosts and such. They were awesome!" She said and I smiled. She was such a darling.

"The anime's name is Ghost Hunt, I'm sure since you're from Japan you would know about it," she said and I knew that anime.

"I love that show!" John suddenly spoke up and went beside Aria who chuckled.

"I guess your an otaku? Umm?"

"John Brown at your service," John said and her face was in shock.

"It's the same name as the priest in the anime! Ohemgeee!!" She squealed, fangirling and suddenly hugging John. John's face went red but Aria was oblivious to it.

Seems like a new team is becoming. But... Is Aria gonna fit in?

Well, Yazu isn't psychic and he fits in perfectly. So maybe Aria will too. But she's from this country not from ours...

"What are you doing here?!?" Aria suddenly shrieked and we saw a little girl who had a white dress on and twin tails. Her hair was ash white and her eyes were red. But what bothered me was...

She was floating in mid-air!!
