Side Story 6 : Gene's Resolve

GENE'S POV

"Masako.." I told her as I touched her cheeks. Tears stained her face as she looked at me in the eye. I just told her something I know is breaking her heart right now.. Am I ready to let this person leave me? Am I ready to lose this person?

"Gene.. How could you?!?" She said as more tears fell on her face. Do I really want this perfect person to leave me?

>>>>A few hours ago..

"Aria, can I talk to you for a sec?" I asked her as she was making her way towards Mai's office. She nodded and I held her wrist crossing the room towards my office. I closed the room and locked it earning a confused look from Aria..

"Okay.. I know this may sound weird but.. I like you and in a not so creepy way.." I told it to her face and she was shocked. Her cheeks tainting red and I could feel my heart beat so fast.

"Gene.. It's not happening.." She muttered and I was dumbstruck.. But I recovered quickly. I knew the answer but I wanted to try..

"I love John.. So much and I can't seem to wrap the idea of you liking me.. Which is weird considering the fact that you have Masako.. Masako is a great girl.. You shouldn't change her for anyone.. Masako's very verbose about you two.." She said and I chuckled.

"What kind of vocabulary alien have you become?"

"The one that tells you that Masako is the one you should cherish and not someone else.." She said as she held my cheeks with her hand.

"And also don't start picking fights with her.. She's worth everything you want.." She said and she went out of my office..

She's worth everything.

>>>>Present time

"Masako.. It's didn't go to where you think it went.."

"No.. I know sooner or later you're going to break up with me! I just know it!!" She said yelling at me as new batches of tears filled her eyes.

"Oh will you please just shut up for one sec?!?" I shouted at her and she went timid. That's better.

"I said to Aria that I like her but that doesn't mean I hold any love for her.. I only told her that to clear my feelings because once and for all I want only you.. And this isn't just my mind speaking.. My mouth is speaking for both my heart and my mind.. If you don't believe me.. Then do you want me to show you??" I smiled at her mischieviously and I felt her spine tingled. I carresed her soft cheeks and kissed her plush lips..

And I knew at that moment that I would do anything for this woman..

That night was the night I claimed her as mine.. And I loved every inch of her..

>>>>A few days later..

"Aria!!" Masako called Aria who was wearing her chestnut brown hair up in a messy ponytail with strands falling by her face. I had braided Masako's hair because she wanted to and it looked damn right perfect on her. I ain't kidding when it comes to her.

Aria waved her paintbrush at us and she continued on her project. She was her school's art exhibitionist. And she loved it. She had created a lot of paintings and one of her most famous ones is SPR or Spirit's Phenomenal Reasons wherein I think she just wanted to use the company's name. She had enrolled at Mai's school and is currently on her newest project the Psychics.. It was actually a very popsy painting which consisted of 11 people.. Two looked like me and Naru, one looked like Mai, the others looked like John, Masako, Aria, Lin, Madoka, Yasuhara, Bou-san, and Ayako.. In front of them were different kinds of spirits like they were all getting ready for battle.

How ironic is that?

"Hey that looks like us!" Masako said her braided hair falling on her shoulder. She was wearing a simple yukata that had flowers on it and a red sash. She looked cute..

"Yeah.. I've wanted to hang this in the office. Had gotten Mai's approval on it!" She squealed happily and Masako pulled her into a hug.

"We're so proud of you.." Masako said and thankfully she didn't feel awkward talking with someone who I had said I liked just a few days ago.. That's just the way Masako is.. And I love her for it.

We went inside my office and started filing the equipment's inventory when I heard the doorbell. I went to it clutching the doorknob and twisted it.

"Hello Gene!!!" A bear hug suddeny engulfed me when I opened the door. I almost fell luckily I caught the person who had a vice like grip on me. It was my Mom, Luella Davis.

"Hi Mom.." I said kissing her cheeks. She smiled at me and I could see her love flowing through my body.

"How are you dearie?" Mom said to Mai and she just nodded in response. Mai's eyes were droopy and she looked pale. Is this the effect of being pregnant?

"Naru.." She said sleepily and rubbed her eyes like a little child. Mom almost expired as she gazed lovingly at the two. Dad smiled and hugs my discreetly squealing mom. Oh my parents. What am I gonna do with you two?

"Okay.. We're gonna go home.." Naru said as he went beside Mai and rubbed soothing circles behind her back. They looked perfect for each other. As soon as Naru and Mai got out of the office, Mom faced me and Masako was hiding behind me.

"Gene dear. I saw something very cute in one of my dreams.." Mom said not containing one ounce of her happiness.

"Mom.. Dad.. This is Masako.. My girlfriend.." I said as I held Masako's hand and she blushed crimson. Mom went near her and hugged her causing her face to flush. I chuckled as Masako stood awkwardly, shocked by the attention she's getting.

"Thank you.. I've never seen Gene so happy.." I heard Mom whosper to Masako and I can't help but smile.

She really was worth it..
