2- The Blind Flower

*Salim Chisti is a saint
*Jodha is the queen, wife of Akbar

The caravan reaches the court of the saint, AKBAR kneels in front of SALIM CHISTI

SALIM CHISTI

Well, ask like you ask, not demand,
God doesn't disappoint his low kins,
Over your head hovers his hand,
To wipe you off your wrongs and sins

Put your hands to pray like a beggar,
Not like the king you think you are,
Be like a dove, not a Jaegar,
And his abode'll have its doors ajar

AKBAR

I'm graced with countless titles and treasures,
Still I beg- I will not bother,
The ones who call me king in grand measures,
Now grant me one who can call me 'Father'

O' high lord and master of hope,
Unveil me from this devilish conspiracy,
And when successors will history grope,
They shall find the words of Akbar's legacy!

SALIM CHISTI

Here's a flower- one of a kind,
Which I present to great Jodha Bai,
To the laws of the desert, the flower is blind,
Likewise Jodha'll bear a ruler-
Of low and high
