A/N: This chapter tells the story of how Sarah and James first met. From sixteen-year-old high school students to now, as mature eighteen-year-old college partners. I hope you like this one.
James was a very smart, very handsome and intelligent young man with an interesting admiration for solving math equations and soon hoping that it will get him somewhere. He had the gift of being a mathematician. His goal in life was to, hopefully do something big, like launch rockets into space or build a grand palace. His parents loved him and his outgoing spirit.James and Sarah were Juniors in high school when they first met. The day James first met Sarah was on a cold, blustery morning in autum. Sarah was wearing her big, black coat and long, red scarf. She was reading one of her favorite books, but then put it away to get on her bike and ride to school, because she didn't live that far. Once she got there, she was a couple minutes early. A few moments after she arrived, James pulled up and got out of his car.
James stood next to Sarah, working on some pages in his math book. Sarah, looking up at him from her book, noticed him. "Hey." She said, smiling at him. James looked up at her with surprise. "Oh! Hey!" He said, noticing her beautiful green eyes. Sarah smiled and went back to reading her book. There was an akward silence for a few seconds. "So... you like to read?" James asked her. "Oh yeah." Sarah replied. "Different books for when I'm in a different mood." She said. "What's that supposed to mean?" James asked, with a slight smile.
"It means that there are books that may cheer me up, have me on the edge of my seat, or even make me have a certain emotional feeling, like romance or tragedy. They just keep me hooked that way." She told him. "Wow! I seriously need to read more books." James said. "I guess I just get caught up in too much of my work, that I never have the time." He told her. "Books are pretty fun." Sarah told him. "But..." she hesitated and smiled. "Sometimes my teachers think I read so much in class that I completely block out any other information. They call me "The Book Worm" It's humiliating." She said.
James laughed. "That's ridiculous! You're very professional inside and out. I can already see it." He told her. Sarah smiled at him and blushed. "Easy for you to say. You're practically a math genius." She said. "True." He agreed. "And your a reading mastermind." He said, giving her a smile. "I think I like you." He told her. Sarah giggled and nodded. "I like you too." She told him. Just then, The class bell rang. "Well, see ya." James said. "Bye." Sarah said as she waved at him. After she saw that he was gone, she squealed and ran happily to her class.
James had finally asked Sarah out. Him and Sarah had spent lots of time together after that. He thought she was the most beautiful and intelligent girl, just as she thought he was the most handsome and intelligent guy. He gave her a little late Sweet sixteen gift. It was a charm bracelet with her first initial on it. James and Sarah also did things like go to Junior and Senior prom. They went on a few dates as well. James and Sarah loved each other's company.
James' POV
Back at his apartment, James was thinking about Sarah and how much he had really loved her. He wondered if she actually had the same thoughts about him. Sarah was the only girl that had James lovestruck. He remembers spending all those fun times with her. He had felt guilty for not having time to come by and see her very often. James decided that he would promise himself to visit her next week. He was really missing her and had to see her again.
Sarah's POV
Back at Sarah's fancy dorm room, Sarah had just finished studying for her big exam and put all her books away. Sarah looked at her shelves, noticing all of the gifts that James had given her. She founded necklaces, flowers, and the very first charm bracelet he had given her. She picked up a picture frame of her and him on their first date. Her and James had been through so much together. He was a person who had never given up on her once. She was ready to see him again.
