Sarah came across some of the same old difficultues she did once before in the labyrinth. The door knockers, the helping hands and the false alarms.
She noticed a very farmiliar place in the labyrinth. "Ello, miss." She heard that tiny farmiliar voice say to her. She looked down and saw the little blue worm. "Hello." Sarah responded. "You really remember me?" She asked. "Of course. You that girl that was lost wasn't ya?" The worm said.
Sarah giggled. "Yes. I'm that same girl." She said. "Well then, where you off to today?" The worm asked. "I'm trying to find my friends." Sarah responded. "Ah! Well, mind if I come along?" The worm asked. "Absolu... wait. You're not going to lead me in the wrong direction again are you?" Sarah asked with a look of distrust.
"Nah! Not this time. You found your way out yourself last time, miss." The worm replied. "Alright." Sarah said, smiling again as she put the worm in her comfy blouse pocket, careful not to loose him.
Sarah walked alongside a tall stone bridge and called for her friends. "Hoggle! Ludo! Sir Didymus! It's me, Sarah! I'm back!" She shouted hoping for a response. "Sarah?!" She heard a farmiliar voice respond. "My lady?!" She heard another one say.
Sarah looked up and saw her 3 friends, Hoggle, Sir Didymus and Ludo at the top of the bridge waving down at her. "Sarah! You came back!" Hoggle shouted from above. "I've missed you Hoggle!" Sarah said with a loving smile. She tried to climb up the stony bridge. "Just hang on! I'm comming!"
Hoggle threw down a rope for Sarah to grab onto. Sarah easily climbed up the bridge to meet her friends. "Sarah!" Ludo said, holding Sarah into his big, furry arms. Sarah gave him a big hug. "I missed you too, Ludo." She said.
"My lady! You've returned!" Sir Didymus said to Sarah. "Yes. It's just been so long since I've seen you all. I thought it was time I returned." She said. "We're glad to have you back Sarah..." Hoggle began. "Oh, and Sarah," He added. "Yes, Hoggle?" Sarah replied. "I never gave this back to you." Hoggle said, handing Sarah her little plastic jewel bracelet from when she was fourteen.
"Oh Hoggle." Sarah said, smiling down at the childhood gift. "Thank you, but now that I know how much this thing means more to you than me, It's yours." She said, handing Hoggle back the plastic bracelet. "You really mean it?" Hoggle asked. "Yes. Of course." Sarah said cheerfully.
Hoggle gladly put the bracelet back on his wrist and admired it some more. Sarah stood up. "Im going to be visiting all of you much more often now." Sarah said gratefully. The four of them traveled along the labyrinth as Sarah spoke. "How have you been, my lady?" Sir Didymus asked.
"I've been doing really well. Sarah said. "Now that I'm eighteen, things have been very busy. Ive been accepted into the coolest college in town. It's been a little difficult too though. I'm far away from my family members." Sarah told them. "I bet you do miss them." Sir Didymus said. "I do." Sarah nodded. "It must be hard leaving them." Hoggle added.
"It really is." Sarah agreed. "Especially leaving Toby. I just feel like I want to be there to see my little brother grow up." All of them got excited when Sarah mentioned Toby's name. "Now that he's five years old, I've even told him about all of you." She smiled.
As they continued their little calm journey, Sarah asked them about themselves. Hoggle went first. "Well things aren't too easy for me, as usual, but I have gained some bravery." He said. "I'm proud of you Hoggle." Sarah smiled down at him. Hoggle blushed.
"Well, nothing has changed at all about me, my lady! I am still very brave, regal, and ready to fight! Isn't that right, Ambrosius?" Sir Didymus asked the saddled dog. "Woof! woof!" Was his response.
"What about you, Ludo?" Sarah asked the big, friendly furry beast. "Ludo miss Sarah." Was his only response. Sarah smiled and gave him a little pat on the head.
After it was getting late, all of them decided to stop and take a rest under a tree. Sarah remembered that she had the little worm in her pocket. She picked him up and set him on a tree branch.
"There you go." She said politely. "Thank ya. Take care, miss." He said as he squirmed away. Sarah faced all of her friends. I'm so lucky to have you all. You've been through so much with me. Sarah said. "We're the ones that are lucky, Sarah." Hoggle told her. "And... if it weren't for you, I wouldn't know what a friend even was." He said.
Sarah smiled as she teared up and gave him a hug. "I need you, Hoggle." She said once again. She released from the hug. "What do you say we all head back to the castle?" The three friends agreed as they got up and followed her.
