Jareth had been busy the last few days with his duties as king. He was very wise, loyal, and loving to his subjects and all who lived in the castle. He had acted differently, in a way, before Sarah came along. In the past, he always acted like he had a rather distant and cruel personality. But once he figured out his true self, the real him came out.
Jareth's soft spot was definately not hard to hit, unlike some others. He was very caring. Just his stunningly amazing appearence may have seemed to intimidate many, but he always had approached them in the most gentle way possible. He never had a moment in his life where he had ever completely lost his temper on anyone or anything. It would take an army to stir him up.
But, you could also be easily fooled, for Jareth has always been a genius at playing wicked tricks and being very sneaky doing so. He could easily outsmart any person. For being king as long as he has, he has figured out all of the silly tricks mortals play and doesn't even fall for one. He is also very mischievous.
Jareth lay comfortably on his throne, all his goblins asleep in the throne room after a long day's work. Jareth decided he needed some fresh air. He quietly stepped off of his throne, walked around the sleeping goblins and went out to the castle balcony, sitting on the edge of his window. Looking up at the night sky, Jareth admired the silver-looking sparkle of the full moon. He also noticed the gorgeous shadow it had left over the labyrinth. Jareth closed his eyes for a few seconds, loving the sounds of the night and the feeling of the cool breeze.
Jareth awoken and a thought popped into his mind. He just couldn't help his curiosity about what was happening in the mortal world. He twirled his crystal into his fingertips and saw what was happening in the William's home. He looked closer and saw Toby waking up in the middle of the night to get one of his favorite stuffed animals given to him by Sarah. Jareth could not believe his eyes! The little baby boy he took, which seemed like not too long ago was now a little walking, talking five-year-old! Jareth silently giggled as he saw Toby rushing back to his room and jumping into his bed.
"Goodnight, my fine fellow." Jareth said quietly as he smiled as Toby's appearence in the crystal ball slowly faded away. Jareth still couldn't believe how much Sarah and her brother have seemed to change over just a little length of time. Deep down inside, Jareth was a bit speechless and definatley surprised that Sarah beat his labyrinth and managed to make it to the Castle Beyond The Goblin City. Especially at her age.
Sarah was very clever. She seemed to have just the same level of intelligence as Jareth. She sometimes said things a little too quickly, though. "Piece of cake" being one of them. Jareth knew just the perfect difficulties and obstacles that were right on Sarah's level.
But Sarah did learn lots of things in the labyrinth. The most important thing she learned was that things aren't always what they seem to be. That lesson stuck with Sarah in her life later on as well.
What Jareth was never able to forget about Sarah was the moment when she stood up to him and said those cursed words. "You have no power over me." No one else ever had the bravery to stand up to Jareth himself. Sarah was a girl who had been obsessed with the story of The Labyrinth ever since she was a little girl. She also had a fascination with fairytales, mythical creatures, fairies, and goblins.
Jareth seemed to recognize that about Sarah when he first saw her. He immediately admired her fun and creative spirit. He also admired her personality. She was loving, caring, outgoing, but at the same time, she was very stubborn, sassy, and tough.
For some particular reason, Jareth was worried about how Sarah was doing now. He knew how much a new beginning in adult life in the mortal world can take it's toll on any person and completely change who they are. It damages both the person and their society. Jareth had such hatred towards people who made fun of others who had an incredible imagination about things.
Jareth figured that many people would call his world an "unreal," "fake," or "fantasy world." It was any mortal's nature to so call disbelieve in something that they figured was not real just because they didn't see it.
Sarah was an outgoing mortal girl who Jareth had strong faith in. He hoped that no one would ever tease Sarah for her strong and outgoing spirit. He knew many others would be jealous or envy Sarah. She was a very intelligent girl who grew up with very beautiful and eye-catching looks.
Jareth was always facinated whenever he had thoughts of previous events that happened in the past. He twirled a crystal ball, which held all of his past memories. It turned into it's bubble form and flew out into the distance. Jareth watched it for a moment, then he went back into his castle, noticing that Fizzywig, the new little goblin had slipped out of bed. He was sprawled out on the floor snoring his little snore.
Jareth smiled as he picked up the young little goblin and placed him back in his little soft bed. Jareth laid comfortably back onto his throne, sleep soon took over him as well.
