when you look in the mirror what do you see? do you see yourself positively?
do you see a familiar face? or a stranger staring back at you?
are you skinny enough? can you see the ounces of fat that sit under your skin?
you know by your dress size you're not overweight so why do you see an obese creature staring at you
are my eyes kaleidoscopes? distorting the images i see or is that disgusting creature me?
//as you've probably gathered (and if you haven't that's okay) i had/have (it never really goes) an eating disorder. as of late my poems have been a little dark because i've been going through some things. it's hard, but what isn't? above is a picture i took a few months before my worst weight. i haven't kept any of those pictures, but i thought i'd share this one. (please note I haven't shared this for sympathy) this is very close to my heart, but i feel like i've connected with you all enough to share.
