Dali-dali akong umahon sa pool at sinundan siya.

“Gottfred!” I called out.

“It’s lunch already. Let’s eat out,” sabi niya at pag-iiba ng usapan.

The thought of dining out with him ignited a surge of excitement in me and had me forgetting about what happened and what he said in the pool.

Anong ibig sabihin noon?

Magde-date kaming dalawa?

Sumakay kami sa elevator at tumunog iyon na siyang hudyat na nakarating na kami sa palapag kung saan naroon ang kuwarto namin.

The anticipation of having lunch with him got the best of me, while he excused himself to make a restaurant reservation.

While choosing the prettiest clothes I had, I felt like floating in the clouds, could hardly contain my happiness. Para akong isang teenager na sabik na sabik na maka-date ‘yong boyfriend niya.

“Have you not seen the dress I bought for you? It was on the bed,” biglang tanong niya noong nasa elevator na kami pababa sa lobby.

“Huh? Anong dress?” kunot-noong tanong ko.

Hindi ba maganda itong suot ko?

“That black dress—Nevermind,” he hissed.

My heart galloped like a wild horse inside my chest when he grabbed my hand and clasped our fingers together and as we exited the glass double doors of the hotel. I also could not help but to linger my eyes on him who, on the other hand, looked so extra handsome today. Since when did he not look handsome, anyway? His effortless style was so captivating. He donned the pristine white Lacoste polo shirt, sleek black boardshorts, and a pair of stylish tinted sunglasses. Gottfred exuded an aura reminiscent of a dashing French model.

Hand in hand, we walked on the shore. He said that the restaurant was just a walking distance and it was not a problem to me at all. Sa katunayan ay pabor pa nga iyon sa akin dahil mas magiging mahaba ‘yong oras namin na magkasama.

Naglalakad kami nang bigla niya akong hilahin doon sa mga souvernir shops na nakahanay sa gilid. From the display, he grabbed a huge buri hat, tapos ay nagpatong siya ng tatlong libo sa estante at hindi na kumuha pa ng sukli sa tindera. Biglang-bigla naman ako noong isuot niya iyon sa akin, and here was my heart hoping again.

I stood there, utterly astonished by his actions, na nagpalingon naman sa kaniya sa akin.

“Can’t you walk faster?” he ordered that had me sighing deeply, his calmness and kindness to me so shortlived, at tila ba nainip na siya sa bagal kong maglakad kaya muli niya akong hinawakan sa kamay at saka hinila.

My excitement was palpable as we finally arrived at the restaurant he had been raving about, and all I could manage to say was a breathless wow sound. The exquisite seaside dining experience unfolded as tables adorned with delicately scattered rose petals, creating an ambiance of unparalleled elegance. All in all, the restaurant had me at a loss for words. At sigurado akong mas maganda rito sa gabi!
