Colby helped me to pack the bags of groceries into my car, wheeling the cart back to where they go. He jogged over to my car and got in, buckling his seat belt. I began to drive off, Colby's phone ringing. I didn't mean to be nosey, but I was being nosey.
"Oh hey, can we talk about this later?" I heard a girls voice on the other end of the phone answering Colby. "Yeah I'm not at home right now and I don't wanna talk about us here" my heart sunk. He was probably talking to some girl and didn't wanna mention anything in front of me. Not that I cared anyway. He was a jerk and I didn't like him. Colby ended the call and we sat in bitter silence again. I wish he would just make basic fucking conversation. That would make my life a whole lot easier. We wouldn't have to sit here like two idiots not saying anything to each other.
"Drive faster" Colby groaned, throwing his head back in annoyance. Give me one good reason not to crash this damn car on purpose.
"I'll drive at whatever speed I like" I hissed, Colby giving me a dirty look. He was seriously testing me right now. We got to the Trap House and Colby and I brought the groceries inside. The house was empty. The only two cars that sat outside was my car and Colby's car. They must've all headed out while we were gone.
"Greeeat. Nobody is here and I'm stuck with you" Colby started to take things out of the target bags and set them in the kitchen counter.
"Do you want me to help you? I could leave if it's such a problem" I asked him, Colby shrugging. I decided to stay and help but as soon as I finished, I left, not even caring to say goodbye to Colby. Like I said before, two of us could play the who can be a better jerk game. My eyes glanced down at Brennen's USB in the drink holder in my car and I remembered I had to give it to him. As I drove, I thought about what had happened between Colby and I. I wish he wouldn't have to be so mean to me, but for some reason he was. To be honest, I don't think Colby and I have ever got on together. When we first met in Starbucks, he seemed fine with me. Maybe I should talk to Brennen about it but I don't know. Colby is Brennen's best friend and I feel awkward mentioning it to him. I pulled up to the apartment and parked my car, jogging up the steps and walking in. A darkish-blonde haired girl was sitting on Brennen's couch, Brennen next to her.
"Oh! Briana, this is Kylie. Remember I was telling you about her" he sort of winked. I knew exactly who he was talking about. This was the girl he had a crush on. He gave me an entire back story and everything. She seemed pretty cool and I honestly wouldn't mind being close friends with her. I mean, she seemed cool. Her cheeks went a little red as I waved a little at her.
"Here's your USB, Bren" I handed it to him.
"Also, this Saturday, Elton is holding a house party for TFIL because they hit one mili" Brennen jumped back onto the couch, Kylie seeming so shy. It was literally so cute.
"Oh cool, are you going?" I asked him and he gave me an 'obviously' face.
"Yup, and so are you" He didn't even give me a chance to decide whether I wanted to go or not. I probably will go, to support TFIL. I wasn't really the type to go to house parties and I had been to a few when I was younger but I did drink a few times at them. Now I was of the drinking age, I could freely drink. I knew that these guys drunk a little, but probably not enough to get them drunk. They don't seem like the type to drink heavily. Not that I drink heavily. Heck, I barely drink at all. Or maybe they were, I don't know. Either way, we shall see. I left Brennen and Kylie to their own devices and went to my room. I scrolled through social media before editing a video. Brennen texted me that he and Kylie were going out and that they would be back soon. As I was editing, I heard something smash in the living room. I knew that Brennen had left, so it spooked me a little how a smash came from there when nobody was here apart from me. I stepped out of my room and quietly made my way to the source. A photo frame of Brennen and his mom lay on the floor, the glass shattered to pieces.
"What the fuck, weird" I squinted my eyes at the shattered picture that lay on the floor. It was so weird to me how a perfectly fine photo could just suddenly end up on the floor. It must've hit the floor pretty hard because the wood frame was cracked. I better get this fixed before Brennen came home. I wouldn't want him to think I was trashing the place. Using my amazing fixing skills, I managed to fix the frame but the glass was a no can do. I would just have to tell him what happened when he comes home and that I tried to fix the frame. My stomach growled at me, begging for food. Something that looked fine to me right now was a chipotle bowl. Dang, those were amazing. So I picked my keys up and happily skipped off to my car.
