"Why do you hate me so much?"
"Because you're perfect"
Brennen Taylor's childhood best friend, Briana, drifts away from Brennen, making them complete strangers. Briana works as a barista at Starbucks and Brennen just happened to have...
(A/N - hey mother truckers so today I was like "instead of me typing out each individual conversation, I wanna make it seem real" and I came across this website that basically allows you to create fake iMessage messages. So, from now on the text messages throughout the story will be kinda like screenshots but it's an entirely fake conversation that was made 😂 hopefully it seems legit because I just wanna make this cooler and shit but yeah, enjoy! ALSO, there's a spelling mistake in the first message thing it was supposed to say 'then' not 'the' so yeh, I should've proofread it but I fucking didn't so yeee, look out for it and know that I can spell :))
-Briana's POV-
Colby and I left the mall, me walking in front of him. I was jealous and that was why I held his hand but I didn't wanna admit it because he would just go on and on about it. I took my keys out of my pocket and unlocked my car, getting ready to place my shopping bags into the trunk.
"Here, I'll do it" Colby took the bags from my hands and smiled, our hands briefly touching.
"Thank you" I shyly smiled back, trying to hide my lightly blushing cheeks. I hopped into the front seat, Colby getting into the car as I buckled my seat belt. We drove off, not saying a thing. I was on my way to my nail appointment, excited to be getting them done. When we arrived, we went inside and I was brought immediately to get them done. I chose matte burgundy nails with a gold glitter accent nail. Rachel began to text me as I was getting my left hand done.

I looked over at Colby as I was texting, him sitting looking down at his phone in concentration. If only he knew how much Rachel was freaking out right now.

Just as Rachel and I stopped texting, I had to get my right hand done which was right on cue. I could tell Colby was getting extremely bored, until some blonde girl walked in, Colby suddenly interested. It didn't take long until my nails were finished and I had to pay. My eyes kept finding their way to see what Colby was doing. Why was I acting like we were dating? There was honestly no need for my jealousy right now. I paid for my nails and walked out, annoyed that Colby was looking at that other girl. What the fuck was I doing?
-Colby's POV-
Briana walked out, not waiting for me to follow. All I could do was smirk at the thought of her being jealous. I thought it was cute. She could deny it for as long as she wanted, but we both knew that she liked me. She got into the car, me jogging because I thought she would leave without me.
"Are you okay?" I say, trying to get her to look at me. Come on, Briana.
"Yes, I'm fine" She sighed, pulling away from the parking spot she had parked in.
"You seem pissed off at me" I folded my arms, looking out of the window as we drove off.
"Well I'm not" Briana kept her eyes on the road, not even glancing at me once.
"Don't lie" I poked her cheek with my index finger. Briana looked at me angrily before completely exploding. Shit, I didn't plan for this to happen.
"Colby for one second can you please just leave me alone?!" She tugged her hand stressfully through her long brown hair, a frown appearing on her face as a tear or two slid down her cheeks.
"Shit Briana, I didn't mean to make you-" I say, reaching over to wipe away the tears on her cheeks.
"I'm fine, leave me alone" She swatted my hand away, continuing to drive without saying a word. What was going on with her? I knew it wasn't me being annoying that upset her. It was something else. Much much deeper than this. That's when I turned to my only hope to help me out. Rachel. She was Briana's best friend and she only knew what could be wrong. I searched for her name in my phone's contact list and sent her a text message, hoping for a quick reply.

Briana and I arrived home and I didn't even realise it was late. Briana went inside, heading to her room before I could even talk to her. I decided on leaving her alone, not wanting to make this situation worse. I really just wanted to know if she was okay, but I guess tomorrow I can make it up to her. Bring on the 'friend' activities.
-Briana's POV-
I got quite overwhelmed in the car on the way home. I felt myself slipping into Colby more and more and it was only resulting in me becoming overly jealous. I needed some space to myself. Some downtime perhaps. I got changed into some pyjamas and watched some Netflix in my room. It wasn't long until I had fallen asleep with the TV remote in hand, dreaming away.
A/N

I hope this new text message technique is cool because I think it is and for some reason the last message thingy was shit quality? Idk I think I'll just stick to using my phone for that cause for some reason my laptop fucks shit up so apologies. I'm gonna go work on the next part and get it up for tonight so, peace!
