CHAPTER 9

Pierce and Cordelia laid in the bed with the sheets over them. They laid like that for twenty minutes after mating. "We finally did it." Cordelia thought out loud. Pierce nodded. "Yep." He sighed. Cordelia looked up at Pierce and he looked down at her. "Why did you make me wait?" She asked him. He shrugged. "Not sure."

Eventually they got dressed and walked out of the room. Kaden, Genevieve, and Michael were all out in the living room laughing about something. Genevieve looked up at Cordelia and smiled. "Feel any different?" She asked her. Cordelia didn't really feel any different. The feeling of her and Pierce's connection felt stronger was new. But not really anything more.

Cordelia shook her head no. "Not really." She said. "Well, you are Luna now." Pierce told her as he wrapped his arms around Cordelia's waist and planted a kiss on the top of her head. "What does that mean, exactly?" She asked. "You don't know?" Genevieve asked. Cordelia shook her head no. The late alpha at her old pack had a mate but Cordelia never really saw her around. So she didn't know what the role of Luna actually meant. Granted she never even thought of being an alpha's mate until she met Pierce.

"It's the only actual given title that a female in a pack can have. Granted betas can be female but that's rare. It's just really a fancy shortened word that means female alpha. It's kind of like if Pierce is gone on a business trip or whatever werewolf thing and is going to be gone for a longer period of time, you're the one in charge kind of along with the Beta. But you don't have as much authority as Pierce." Genevieve said.

Cordelia nodded and leaned back into Pierce's chest. "My neck hurts." She mumbled. Everyone laughed. "Well that's what usually happens after being bitten on the neck. Does anything else hurt?" Kaden asked and wiggled her eyebrows at Cordelia. Cordelia dismissively waved a hand at Kaden. "I don't wanna talk about that." She huffed.

"I just wanna sleep." Cordelia yawned. "But I'm also really really hungry." She said as her stomach growled. "I can make you some food." Kaden said and started to stand up but Cordelia already wiggled out of Pierce's arms and half way to the kitchen. "No. It's okay." Cordelia said.

After making herself a sandwich, she went into the living room and sat on the floor and engulfed the sandwich. She yawned again and laid down on the floor. "I really am tired." She said falling asleep on the floor. "Then go to bed." Michael told her. Cordelia sat up and sighed. "No. I don't wanna go to bed. I wanna be tired."

Pierce chuckled at Cordelia. "Well, come on, sleepy pants." Pierce said and walked up to Cordelia. Cordelia shook her head no. But Pierce just picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. "We're taking a nap, guys. Later." Pierce called before going into the bedroom and setting Cordelia down on the bed.

"I don't want to take a nap." Cordelia pouted and laid back on the bed. Pierce chuckled. "Well, try. I'll take a nap with you." Pierce laid down with her and cuddled her. She yawned again and started to fall asleep. "Okay. Five minutes." She said and slowly fell asleep.
