Hey all so since it's Sunday and like a good high schooler I decided to get majority of my hw on Friday I have some spare time so here is another Nikolai x Reader! I love doing these because I love that now since Meredith is born it kinda takes the story on new kind of path I guess but idk, anyway here's is the chapter and I was thinking about maybe doing like a q&a story just about like facts about me and stuff but only if y'all would want to see that so please let me know if you all would be interested in that😀 but enough of my babbling here's the chapter😀😆

Set in Der Eisendrache

The light from the castle window shined through the room you and Nikolai were in. It had been at least week since you had all teleported to Germany and you didn't really know how to feel about it. While you didn't really care for those insane bunkers in France this place wasn't really better, but it was a much safer place to raise Meredith in than the excavation site that was almost unbearable. As you were beginning to wake up in the historic bed that you were in you heard a familiar noise, it was a cooing sound from Meredith. She was sitting up and staring directly at you and babbled something in gibberish while waving her hands and smiling, you responded to her by smiling and saying "good morning baby girl." You walked slowly over to her makeshift crib that Nikolai had made and picked her up and rested her on your hip and walked back over to the bed. Nikolai was still sleeping but you thought it'd be cute to let Meredith wake him up this morning, so you let go of Meredith and let her crawl onto her father. She crawled up onto his stomach and and sat down while yelling in baby language "abaaaaaaabaaa" Nikolai heard this and woke up slowly with a smile on his face, he lightly pet Meredith's some what still bald head and Whispered "how is daddy's malyshka?" (baby girl in russian) All she could do was smile and giggle, you rested your head on Nikolai's chest and just grinned as your daughter began to play with his mustache will attempting to sing a German song that Richtofen had taught her. You were all enjoying yourself until Tank rushed into the room that you were in and said strictly "her new rounds gonna start any minute, Takeo is down in the courtyard but more might come so we need one of you down there just in case shit hits the fan." You sighed and said "okay I'll go" Nikolai quickly replied "no, it's a man's job to protect his family." You just stared at him and said "Nik I got this, I'm more than capable to help" Nikolai rolled is his eyes and continued to disagree and you guys kept arguing about it for what felt like 10 minutes only to be suddenly interrupted by a zombie that had ran from the door. You grabbed Meredith who was now wailing and crying, Nikolai and tank Grabbed their guns trying to aim and kill the zombie but the speed of this zombie was unexplainable it practically through it self at you and grabbed Meredith from your arms. "Meredith!" You screamed while tackling the zombie off her, Tank grabbed Meredith and ran to the other wing of the castle while Nikolai tried to get his now jammed gun to work. As you were struggling with the zombie who kept chomping his teeth at you, you managed to find a glass shard from under the bed and stabbed it repeatedly in the head while it's blood gushed over your white night gown. Once the zombie was indeed dead you through the glass shard out the window and ran into Nikolai's arms sobbing. Nikolai wrapped you in his arms and cried "(y/n) I'm sorry! I'm so fucking sorry! I pancaked and I just felt as if my body was trapped. I promise from this day forward something like that will never happen again." You just buried your face into his neck and said while sobbing " baby it's okay there was nothing you could do. I've had that happen to me before but I don't want us to argue over something as stupid like that anymore, because while we were arguing we forgot about the situation we are in and let ourselves become so vulnerable to what happened, we just need to trust each other on whatever we do, okay?" Nikolai locked his eyes with yours and cupped your face with his hands and said "(y/n), you and Meredith are the only people that I love in this world and if anything happens to you I wouldn't be able to go on. So promise me. Promise me you will never leave me or put yourself in danger like that ever again, god damnit promise me (y/n)!" You saw the tears streaming down his face and you stared to cry yourself, you pulled his face closer to yours and said "Nikolai I promise but we have to stay strong for Meredith, the group and for us. We can't keep living in fear, we have to try to give Meredith a normal life. She downs deserve to be raised in a hell hole she had no control of coming into." He just nodded his head and cried into your chest. For the rest of that night you just stayed there with him attempting to calm him and soothe away his fears he had at that time.
