What happened today, you did not personally see coming at all. Your team leader David "Section" Mason had just found out something that he had longed to know but the revelation was not necessarily what he was expecting, he had just been told by his adopted father, Frank that it was not Raul who killed his father but, it was done by him. You didn't know David for very long but you did know that ever since he was assigned as your commander that was all he talked about, and to see him find out this way to you was heartbreaking. Tears continued to stroll down David's face as Woods just looked at him with a depressed face, David turned to face Frank and said "Woods I need to be alone right now." Frank wheeled over to David and responded saying " I understand son" and proceeded to wheel back to the main building. You didn't really know what to do as you weren't yet permitted to go back into the vault so you decided to go back to the Hummer that you both arrived in and listen to music to pass time. After about 30 minutes you saw that David was still out there under the tree just staring at the ground, You had never been good at trying to console people as you had never been in this type of situation but, you could tell that he needed some form of comfort so you felt as if you should at least try. You threw open the door to the truck and started to slowly walk over to the tree, the wind started to pick up so you zipped up your brown colored jacket and continued to walk up beside him. "Section...are you okay?" You asked in a concerning tone, he looked up to you and in a stern voice spat  " (Y/L/N) don't worry about me, the only thing you should be concerned about now is calling Briggs to tell him that we need to schedule a mission briefing." You felt offended by that as you tried to just help him so you simply turned you heels and just responded with "yes sir" and headed back to the truck, only to be stopped by a David saying " (Y/N) I'm sorry. I'm just going through a lot right now, I know this is kind of an odd request but can you just sit with me, please?" You gave him a sweet smile and plopped down next to him and said "of course" he gave a shy smiled and began talking about his father for a few minutes then sighed and said something that surprised you. " (Y/N) can I tell you something?" You looked confused and said " sure" he rubbed his temples and looked at your eyes and softly said " ever since you joined the team I've had this feeling and I finally know what it is now." You stared back at him and asked " well, what is this feeling?" He took your hand into said " that I really care about you and I want this friendship to blossom into something more." You didn't know what to think but reacted the only way that seemed appropriate and intertwined your hand with is and leaned against him and said "I'll always be here for you. Always."
