I looked in the mirror appreciatively. Tessa actually did a good job with my hair. Before I had blonde curly hair which reached just above my hips but now my blonde hair was a shade of dark auburn which came just below my shoulders. After rebonding my hair , my curls were replaced with straight locks of hair but there was still a lot of volume to it. I looked different and I liked that. "Thanks Tessa!" I said beaming at her.

"No problem princess", she whispered winking at me. Tessa is Gustav's friend and a hair stylist. Even though she was in her late thirties she was still so full of energy. We listened to some jazz, talked about our lives and discussed the New York weather.

The weather in New York was definitely pms-ing. It was sunny and sweltering hot yesterday but today it was so cold that I had to borrow one of Tessa's sweater. Regardless of everything I felt at peace here. At Eswana I felt like there was a huge weight over me which was weighing me down.

But to be honest I didn't want to take the decision that I had to take in order to get rid of Marcus. That was to runaway from home in hope that my grandpa comes to his senses. After few days of justifying myself my grandpa didn't believe me. In fact he wanted to advance the wedding day two weeks earlier. I was on a house arrest till then. I wasn't allowed to go out of the palace unless it was with Marcus or grandpa of course.

That didn't leave me any choice so one night with the help of Gustav I sneaked out of the palace in our private jet which was traveling to New York to pick up the general secretary of U.N. I hid inside one of the large empty boxes which is used for importing wine for grandpa's personal wine collection. My grandpa is obsessed with wines and he takes credit for it too. He isn't an alcoholic but he just loves drinking the best wine from all over the world with the VIPs he meets at the palace.

I sneaked out of the box which was on its way to New York. But being inside for five hours was the most horrifying thing. Gustav did pack me up with enough supplies inside but I started to  feel claustrophobic.

Then I had to find my way to Tessa's house which wasn't an easy job either. Tessa insisted to pick me up but I politely denied which was a big  mistake. After living here for most of my life, I was still unfamiliar with this place. I didn't even have a cell phone on me to call and ask Tessa to pick me. Regardless of that I was glad that I was here.

Tessa seemed like an amazing person. She knows about my whole princess issue but she was cool about it. In fact she was the only one who thought it was a good idea to runaway from that palace. Gustav and even Terrance thought it was a bad idea.

Gustav was just skeptic about how I won't be able to survive in New York alone. But later he agreed this was the only option I had left.

The last conversation that I had with Terrance was when I was in Eswana. "What will happen to us?" Terrance said sounding sad. "Isn't there any way your grandpa will be convinced? I wish I was there babe, I would have killed Marcus!"

"I don't know... But I can-", I was interrupted by the sound of royal guards entering the room. Everything happened fast. My phone was taken away and I was locked inside the room. I pleaded to my grandpa but he still thought I was lying. He thought I was being selfish.

After coming to New York I didn't contact him. I was thinking of surprising him by stopping by his place, it has been years since we have last met. The last time I met him was when I visited New York for some official work with grandpa. I had to sneak out just to meet him. Even if it was for a short time.

I wish there a better way to do this. I felt guilty for doing that to my grandpa. There hasn't been any uproar on social media yet about my disappearance but I bet Grandpa wouldn't let that news out as he doesn't want such a royal scandal to spread.
