Narating ko naman ang lugar at nagdoorbell ako ng isang beses.
I gripped the bouquet of flowers tightly while waiting for someone to open the door.
Ilang sandali pa at bumukas na ang pinto at si Juliet ang bumungad sa akin. I saw how her face turned pale upon seeing me.
Inabot ko sa kanya ang bulaklak na dala ko. "Hello"
Tiningnan nya lang ang bulaklak.
"Juliet please let's talk." I put my puppy eyes on, hindi nya ako matitiis kapag ganun.
I heard her sigh, and looks like she'll agree soon.
"Please just let me apologize to you. I regret hurting you. I'm sorry." lumuhod ako sa harap nya.
"Tumayo ka nga dyan" pinigilan nya ako at pinipilit tumayo.
"I'm so sorry, it took me too long to realize. I already broke up with Maureen. I am free now. Please come back to me. Let's start over again.." I'm holding on to her hand.
"Get up, Vince."
I looked up. Beside Juliet is Yue. This guy just told me to get up? Why is he here?
I stood up and glared at him. He smiled at me.
"Come in."
I was surprised at what he did. Juliet was hesitant but he took her hand and led her in. Sumunod ako.
We sat down on the sofa. Pumunta sa kusina si Yue. Mahabang katahimikan ang namagitan sa amin ni Juliet hanggang sa bumalik si Yue na may dalang tray. Dalawang baso ng juice at dalawang platito ng pie ang inilapag nya sa mesa.
"Juliet baked this pie. This is good, you must try it" he proudly said.
"T-thank you." I felt awkward by his genuine kindness. He sure has good manners.
"You're welcome." he smiled then went back to the kitchen. Hindi na sya bumalik ulit.
I stared at Juliet.
"I missed you." I told her.
"Umalis ka na. Can't you see, masaya na ako sa buhay ko na wala ka."
Nasaktan ako sa sinabi nya. There's a hint of loneliness in her eyes.
"You're a bad liar." I commented. "Your eyes tell otherwise."
Nag iwas sya ng tingin.
"I heard everything from your office friends and also from Jerome. They all said you like me for a long time. I was just the only one who doesn't know. I'm too focused on our friendship. Because I don't want you out of my life, so I settled on being just a friend." I reached for her hand.
She bit her lower lips.
"I already have someone. And I don't want to hurt him." she said.
"Juliet, I lo---"
"Don't say it" pigil nya sa sasabihin ko. "Umalis ka na."
I looked at her in disbelief. Ramdam kong nahihirapan sya. I know she still likes me.
Tumayo sya at binuksan ang pinto.
"Alis na" taboy nya sa akin.
Bagsak ang balikat at hindi na ako nagpumilit. Umalis na ako.
