Sixteen years old Misty Williams was lying on her fluffy baby blue bed and typing quickly on her phone. She was wearing a pajama top, had a towel wrapped around her orange hair, a hot pad on her belly underneath her shirt and fuzzy slippers on her feet.

May: it wasn't the same without you

Dawn: yeah we had so much fun at the mall

Misty: I know but I had cramps

May: I got you some notes from Communication class

Misty: thanks

Dawn: about that class

Misty: what's it about

May: oh right we're supposed to make interviews with people or something like that and film it

Misty: yeah I remember the teacher talking about it

Misty tucked herself in bed and adjusted the position of the hot pad. The first day of her period was always hell. She missed both school and a shopping trip with May and Dawn.

May: we should work by two so I'm working with Dawn

Misty: it's fine I'll work with Serena or Iris

Dawn: they're working together

May: actually they picked up the pairs today

Dawn: omg she's gonna get mad.

Misty blinked.

Misty: what's going on

May: ugh he had to be absent too

Dawn: the teacher just paired you up with the person who was absent today as well and you wouldn't guess who it was

Misty: please tell me it's Gary

Dawn: it's Ash

Misty gasped. She sat up, logged off and instantly called May.

Mis-

"Ash Ketchum? What the hell?" Misty wrinkled her face in disgust. "I don't want to work with Ash! Why didn't you tell Mrs. Hiddelton?"

He was the only one left without someone to work with! He didn't come today too-

"Maaay! Please tell me you're joking!"

I'm not. I wish I was joking.

Misty groaned. Why did she have to end up with the laziest person in class from all students? All Ash did was eat donuts and chew gum in class. He was always sleeping at his house instead of attending classes. She was ranked among the top five in her class! She couldn't work with the loser and she shouldn't be anywhere near him.

"I'm going to have a really hard time with the loser!"

Look at the bright side... he's best friends with Gary and his neighbor! And he's cute.

"Shut up!"

Fine! Fine! There is no bright side. He'll throw all the work at you.

Misty sighed. "I'm going to hang up and cry myself to sleep."

Don't be dramatic!

"Bye."

She was going to fail the class.
