The next day I wake up regretting that I stayed up so late. It always feels like such a good idea at the time...
When I roll over I see John still snoring away. He has bags under his eyes, from the late nights he works lately. Even with his messy hair and exhausted appearance, he's still the same handsome man I met a few years ago.
I dont even remember him coming home though...
After getting showered and dressed in some shorts and a tank top. I put ny blonde hair in a bun and go make myself a coffee, before enjoying the sunlight on the little balcony in our appartment.
As I sit down to enjoy the morning rays, I hear a ping on my phone.
Unknown number - Hey Natasha. I just wanted to apologize for last night. I don't drink often, I hope I wasn't rude to a total stranger.
Natasha - Hey stranger. Don't worry about it, I'd be pretty annoyed if I got given the wrong number too. I hope you had better luck last night.
Unknown number - Nah, picking up at a club isn't really my thing to be honest. Anyway, as long as I wasn't a total jàćķ àŕśè to you, I'm happy. Again, sorry for the late night phone call. Bye.
Natasha - It's ok Mystery Man. Better luck next time. Bye.
After putting my phone away, I go get dressed for work at the diner. Seeing John still asleep, I decide to just write him a note to remind him I'm working today. He is working so much lately, he barely remembers what day it is.
He's a year older than me and out of college. Because he did so well, he got a great job working for a web design company.
I'm in my last year of college, while working at the diner near by. Luckily our place is close to both or I'd struggle juggling them.
John and I have been together 2 years after meeting in college. Honestly it feels like we just go through the motions lately, with how busy we are.
