"Reesie?"

"Hm?"

"Have I ever sang for you?"

Reese looks at Carter then, eyes wide with wonder, stature opening up to his soulmate.

"No, Carter, I don't think you have." Reese replies, gives Carter a small smile, and he returns it.

"Well, we can't have that. I'm an arts major as well, but I'm more on the musical arts side. Who do you like? Artists wise?" Carter questions, eyebrow raising. Carter is truly interested in knowing who Reese listens to in her free time. Honestly Carter expects some underground artist he's never heard of at all.

"Justin Bieber." Reese and Carter stare at each other for a few beats, then both of them start laughing. Reese's cheeks turn slightly pink, and Carter, honest to God, thinks it's the cutest thing.

"If you like Justin Bieber, that is perfectly fine. I will sing you some Biebs!" Carter smiles at Reese, pinches her cheeks, only to be shoved off. Carter laughs again, only for a second, then becomes serious. Reese is a bit surprised at the change, leans back in her seat. Then she becomes-

Breathless. Breathless within matter of seconds.

"Is it too late now to say sorry? Cuz I'm, missing more than just your body. Oh. Is it too late now to say sorry? Yeah I know that I let you down, is it too late to say sorry now?"

Reese is shocked, overwhelmed, breath taken away as she listens to Carter sing.

Is there anything Carter can't do?

Carter stops when he notices the look on Reese's face, becomes a bit worried.

"Did you... like it?" Carter's voice wavers slightly, insecurity biting him in the back of his head. Reese looks at him like he's dumb,

"Did I like--... Carter, that was the single most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my life. Why have you never shown me this before?" Reese is slightly offended, feels like she's been missing out on something incredible all this time. Carter smiles big, throws his arms around Reese and she is a bit surprised.

"I'm going to be honest, Reesie, if you had said you didn't like my singing, I probably would've quit." Reese pulls away, looks at Carter surprisingly.

"What? Why?"

"I don't know... for some reason, your opinion really matters to me. Any and everything you say, I take it to heart. It sounds silly, but it's true," Carter smiles, and Reese feels her heart beat a little faster, "anyways, thank you for the compliment. I don't know why I never showed you, I guess I just never thought about it. It's weird, because I'm constantly singing, I guess I just never constantly sang to you. Well, now you've heard! Be prepared to be annoyed by my voice 24/7!" Carter begins tickling Reese, who falls over laughing.

"Stop! Please!" Reese laughs, breath quickening.

But she doesn't really want Carter to stop. No, Reese wants to see Carter's smile forever.

.

"Soulmate rejection?" Asher sighs, runs his hands over his face. Reese swallows the lump in her throat, looks at Carter to see what he's possibly feeling, but for some reason he doesn't look too upset.

At least, not yet.

"Okay, fine. So give me the cure that you would for those in organ rejection." Carter says, folding his arms. Asher turns away, and Reese knows.
