All of a sudden I hear a loud bang followed by a voice.

"GRACE?!" a familiar voice screams.

I let go of Ethan's hand and I run downstairs. All the vampires are attacking this one guy. And that guy has a fiery sword like mine. Before I could take a look at him, Cameron starts to push me up the stairs.

"Stop Cameron!"

He doesn't listen and he keeps pushing me. I push my head to the side so I can see the guy.

My heart stops at the sight of him. I haven't seen him in so long, I thought he was dead.

"Mathew?" (Graces brother)

Cameron keeps pushing me to my room. I quickly knee Cameron right 'there' and I run towards Mathew. He swings out his sword and he makes huge gashes in the vampires.

Mathew looks at me and smiles. "Hurry Grace!"

I run over to him and we quickly dash towards the front door. We run outside and I hold Mathews hand.

"I thought you were dead," I say in between breathes.

"It's gonna take more than these guys to kill me," he replies.

"How come there are no vampires chasing us?" I say looking behind me at the receding mansion.

"I used this powder so that they can't go through it. Eventually they will but it'll take a while."

Sweat starts to appear on my head while we run. I push my legs so hard that they start to hurt.

We run into a forest and we go behind a huge tree. We stop running and I put my hands on my knees as I try to catch my breath. I slide down the tree truck and sit down. Mathew does the same and takes a water bottle out his bag, he hands it to me.

"Thanks," I say and take the bottle.

I gulp the content and I hand it back to Mathew.

"Where have you been?" I ask to Mathew.

"I found this place with other humans where they take care of you. It's a secret and the vampires don't know of that place. I got myself fixed up and then I came here to find you. And that's where we are gonna go, it's pretty far. It's gonna take about two days," Mathew says.

"Well that's gonna take forever!"

"Here I got you a sword," says Mathew while taking a sword out his bag.

I took it from him and he gets up.

"Let me train you!" he says.

After about half an hour of training I'm so tired.

"Okay we have to start walking again. We need to find a place to sleep for the night," says Mathew.

I put my sword back in Mathews bag. We start to walk in the forest. I look up and the sky is a orange color, meaning it's gonna be dark soon.

I put the hood on of Mathews sweater. I have to cover my face because all vampires know me.

I start to think about Ethan. I want to remember the memories we have together. I take out a small needle out my pocket. Cameron gave it to me and said it would give all the memories back. He said it may take a while for them to come back.

I put the needle in my sleeve so it's not showing. "Mathew? I need to pee so I'll go behind a tree."

Mathew turns around. "Fine but don't go to far and be quick."
