Chapter 22 ~•The Big Bad Wolf•~

•Grace's POV•

I wake up to the sun shining in my face. I peel my eyes open and look up at Ethan's face. My head is on his shoulder, his shirt off. He has his arm wrapped around me, and I have my arm over his bare stomach.

Ethan's fast asleep, drool coming out his mouth. He snores softly and I laugh. I lean in and kiss his cheek and slowly pull his arm off me. I get up and grab my shirt off the ground.

I walk out the cave and go through the forest. I keep walking and find the small lake Ethan showed me. I sit on the ground and splash water on my face. I wash my body and pull my shirt on.

I put my hands on my back and groan in pain. My back is killing me from sleeping on the ground.

I put my hair in the water and shake all the dirt out. All of a sudden I feel someone push me from behind. I go flying face first into the lake. I quickly get my head out the water, and look up to see Ethan laughing hysterically at me.

"Ethan?!"

"Oh......my.....gosh," he says in between laughs. "That was just so funny!"

Ethan wipes away his tears from laughing. He extends his hand out for me to take. I take his hand and pull him down with as much force as I have. He goes flying towards me but I quickly move to the side. He splashes into the lake and he doesn't come up. I wait for him to pop up suddenly but he doesn't come out.

I kick in the water and I feel my bare foot hit something. I go down in the water and open my eyes. I see Ethan underwater with his eyes closed.

He's just pretending to be dead.

I swim over to him and attack him by wrapping my arms around him. He opens his eyes in shock and pulls me up. He throws me up in the air as I take in a huge breath. I land in the water with a splash and pull myself up.

"Nice try Ethan! You trying to be dead? I wasn't falling for that."

"Oh but I think I got you there!"

I splash water at him. "No! You didn't foul me!"

Ethan splashes water back at me and we start to fight. We tackle each other in the water.

After about a while, we get out the water.

"Turn around, I'm gonna take my shirt off," I say.

"It's not like I haven't seen you without your shirt on," Ethan replies.

"Shut up!"

Ethan turns around and I take my shirt off. I squeeze the water out of it and put my shirt back on. All of a sudden I feel Ethan grab me. He tackles me to the floor.

"Ethan!!" I shout in surprise.

•Unknown POV•

I peek through the bushes and watch the girl leave the cave. She walks through the forest and sits beside the lake.

I crawl closer to the girl on my four paws. My ears point up as I hear her splash water on her face. She smells like a vampire, a very powerful one too.

I go down in a attack position, when I hear someone coming. I stop and retreat back to the bush. I see a boy go behind the girl and push her in the water. They start to fight, and I growl. Teenagers!

Theyget out the water and I they start to talk. Even though I'm pretty far I can hear everything clearly. I don't even bother to listen to them. I turn to my other pack members, and I growl. They all understand me and I turn back to see the boy and girl on the ground, play fighting and tackling each other.

We start to walk slowly towards them. Right when we are really close, the boy stops and looks up to listen.

"I think I hear some-" before the boy could finish I attack.

I groan in pain as I roll my head to the side. I slowly open my eyes and see a huge room with painted white walls. I try to move forward, but then realize that I'm chained to the wall.

"Grace! You're alive!" I hear someone say. I turn my head to see Ethan chained up like me.

"Ethan! Where are we? What happened?"

"A pack of wolves attacked us and brought us here," he says sadly.

I try to push myself towards Ethan. I start to feel my wrists burn from the chains.

"Don't do that, you'll just hurt yourself," Ethan says.

I feel anger bubble up inside me. "They can't do this!" I scream. I look towards the door. "Hey you damn dogs! Get me out of here!" I shout.

"Grace be qui-" Ethan gets interrupted by the door swinging open. I man walks in, he has broad shoulders and there are muscles corded around his arms.

"Excuse me? What did you say?" He asks.

"Do I really have to repeat myself?" I say.

The man growls in anger.

"Awww! Is the puppy getting mad?" I say mockingly.

"Grace stop!" Ethan says.

"That's it! I've had enough!" The man shouts and walks towards me. He balls his hands up and punches me in the face. Blood trickles down my nose, and I can feel a bruise already forming.

"Is that all you got?" I say.

He punches again at the same spot. A searing pain goes through my cheek. I hear myself whimper, and the man smiles in response. I hear Ethan shouting something, but I can't hear anything.

The man pulls his arm back for another punch when the door slams open. The man punching me turns and looks in horror. "I'm so sorry Alpha, I was just teaching her a lesson."

The Alpha at the door walks in and looks at me in complete and utter shock. He opens his mouth and says one word that changes everything.

"Grace?"
