Forever Young

My time is running out, I've had my shares of mistakes and successes..but one thing that I never thought I would do was outlive the one person that's always been there for me.. it was just us against the world.. and it was amazing. They had passed years ago and left me here to my own devices. I miss them dearly, but now is not the time, for I will see them soon. I'm no longer afraid to die, I'm ready to meet my end. I'm just holding on to see my last sunrise, for old times sake. One of my fondest memories was just us, watching the sun rise from the horizon, it was quiet and serene, I remember at that time I wanted to hold their hand.. to see what it felt like, whether it was soft and smooth or cold and rough.. but I never had the courage to, I was always too afraid, but no longer am I afraid to face my last fear, Death. I see the bright sunlight come through the curtains and just like that... I closed my eyes...

And here I was... standing at a gate... the gates opened and I entered.. And the first thing I saw was them, they were young again and so was I, I have my second chance and I won't waste it, for we will be young forever more.
