Light filtered in through Sebastian's grey curtains and I groaned at my sore body. I opened my eyes, and immediately shut them as a familiar burn began in my eyes.
"Sebastian!" I called hurriedly, with a small gust of wind he was by my side, his hands coming protectively over my eyes. This had been a frequent occurence over the last few days. My lycan was making a speedy recovery they said, but I lacked control. I had been trying to open the bathroom door a few days ago and I had managed to pull it straight from its hinges as though it weighed nothing. Catori was the first one the the scene and had snarled at me before walking away with the door. Sebastian had found my suffering funny and a low growl ripped from my chest - an incredulously painful experience.
Benjamin and Sebastian had promised to train me once they had finished their business in this town. I slowly had opened myself up to the idea of having a mate and was looking forward to finally getting to know him, all my life I had been alone. But now, upon discovering my true self, things were looking up for me. But at this moment in time, I wished to rip my own eyes from my head.
My mind drifted aimlessly to the first time this had happened. Sebastian had laughed until tears began seeping from my eyes.
"What is going on?" I had asked, panic taking over my body.
"It's your eyes, my dear," he began, "Us lycans can see beyond the visible spectrum, we can see the infrared and the ultraviolet. I've heard of lycans who can even see in the gamma spectrum," his smooth, velvety voice spoke, paired with his hand that had gently caressed my head of curls, diminished my pain into nothingness. "Your lycan is trying to see beyond the spectrum that your eyes are comfortable with, she's getting used to you as you will her when you shift for the first time," he said calmly.
He sat beside me, stroking the curls atop my head, and eventually I sat up beside him, my eyes remaining firmly sealed.
"When do I get to-," I paused at a loss for words. Over the course of the last few days, I had began to open myself up to both him and Ben. I was learning things about myself that I'd never have had a chance to learn with Esmerelda.
My favourite colour was green, the shade of green on the trees in the midst of summer. I had only ever worn black and grey clothes with Esmerelda. My life was black and grey with Esmerelda.I also learned that I hate horror movies, but that might have just been Benjamin's doing. I had been sat in their large, well-decorated living room, Sebastian's arm hung around me loosely - although I yearned to be held tight in his large, muscled arms - we watched a movie in the dark as the thunderstorm raged outside. The girl had been running aimlessly through the forest, her assailant a masked individual with a knife over his head. He was out of sight and she came into a clearing. She looked around her, her chest heaving with each breath, and suddenly there was a knife protruding from her chest, and simultaneously I felt cool steel against my throat and heard a ferocious growl from behind me. I instantly screamed, the first thing I thought to do falling into action without a second thought. I grabbed the assailant by their forearms and flung them over my head which sent them crashing into the large wall mounted television. Their body limply fell down, with the television in tow and I heard him groan. It was a familiar groan. I turned to Sebastian who seemed to have an amused smile on his face and nodded, urging me to continue. I used my foot kicking the television aside. I looked down at the assailant only to see Ben, looking up at me with a boyish grin. I kicked him gently at his sides, before extending my hand to him. He dramatically swatted it away, placing the back of his hand to his forehead.
"Goddess, Celeste! My spine was nearly ripped from my body," I had learnt that severing the spine from the body was the only way to kill one of us. I grew frustrated and stomped my foot.
"Oh shut up! You-you infuriating.." I paused at a loss for words, the silence dragging on for an awkward amount of time.
"Cow!" I shouted out as quick as the idea came to me. Sebastian chuckled quietly, and I turned to see his eyebrow raised in question.
"Cow?" He asked.
"Yes! Cow!" I snapped, "Mooooo!" I added in, the impression realistic. The two boys burst into laughter and I jumped at the snicker I heard at the doorway. I saw Catori stood, her hand over her mouth. She offered me a tight-lipped smile, and this dissolved my anger as I giggled along with them at my silliness.
