BACK TO CELESTE POV YAYA!
"I think I met the Moon Goddess," I said, and almost instantaneously, the lycans all turned to me, wide eyed as though I'd turned blue.
"You did what?" came Benjamin's voice and I looked to him, seeing an unusually serious expression on his face. I tried to sit up, although my muscles ached, as though I hadn't used it in centuries. Sebastian gently eased me up, and wrapped his strong arms around my waist. I didn't fail to notice how tenderly he held me, as though I might break.
"I met the Moon Goddess," I said, as my memories became clearer and clearer.
"It would be disrespectful for us to discuss such an honour in the car," came Sebastian's voice, and everyone seemed to mumble in agreement.
"What happened to me? Why do I feel so weak?" I began to ask as Benjamin slowly edged back into the road.
"What do you remember, luna?" Sebastian asked, leaning forwards and resting his head in the crook of my neck, laying gentle kisses there. For a moment, I became distracted, however memories of the ceremony slowly began to flood my mind.
"I shifted!" I exclaimed, and couldn't help the smile that came across my mind.
Sebastian stopped in his motions before taking a deep breath.
"The shift nearly killed you," he stated simply.
"It didn't nearly kill you, Celeste, it did."
I slumped in my seat, searching my memories, and slowly the memories of the pandemonium slowly began to piece back together in my mind.
"Does that mean," I looked down and began twiddling with my fingers, as I could feel the tears pricking at my eyes, "I'm not a part of the pack?"
There was a moment of silence, and I began to feel a pressure at my temples, and suddenly I felt a deep connection establishing with them all on an individual level. Like the tether between life and death, I was connected to them.
You are and always will be a part of our pack, came their voices in unison inside my head, and I let the tears fall. I leaned back into Sebastian's chest, and his fingers came up, wiping the tears from my cheeks, and I simply stared out of the window, as we drove home.
*
The journey home was silent, as our minds mulled over the events of the last few days. The lycans filled me in on our visit to Sebastian's parents. He didn't seem to want to open up, and so I wouldn't pry, as I definitely understood what it was like to have a less than pleasant relationship with parents. He would tell me when he was ready to talk about it.
Currently, we sat in the living room, I wrapped in a blanket and Sebastian's arms.
"So. Is she hot?" came Benjamin's voice, slicing through the silence. Catori wasted no time in hitting his stomach, and Irene who sat beside him, gave the back of his head an upward slap. I couldn't help the snigger as Sebastian too rumbled with laughter below me. He let out a stream of expletives as he cradled his stomach, his other hand rubbing the back of his head.
"She's really quite beautiful," I started. "I just woke up in this room, like a throne room. It was so ethereal, everything was glowing, it was like everything was literally giving off moonlight. I was glowing. And when I saw her, I couldn't help but stop breathing. Her skin was so milky and smooth, with her long raven hair. Her eyes, how could I forget her eyes, bright purple, just like that witch's.." my voice trailed off, as I realized the strangeness of it all. "She helped me up, and then she told me that we didn't have much time. She said, that I was so very special to her. Then she said, that in times to come, I would face great challenge, but I will overcome them, and the fruits of my labour shall be far greater than I could imagine."
"Well," came Catori, and everyone stared at me wide-eyed.
"It is considered the greatest honour for wolf-kind to have an encounter with Moon." came Sebastian's voice, and I sighed in confusion.
"But what's so special about me? I'm a broken wolf," I stated, and Sebastian took my hands from me, wrapping them in his own large ones.
"You're perfect as you are, just because you cannot shift, does not make you any less wolf than the rest of us." And I couldn't help the heat that raised to my cheeks
"If anything, you're probably a little more so, especially now with Moon's favour," Ben added, and the lycans hummed in agreement.
"I wouldn't go that far," I mumbled.
"I'm well over two thousand years old, and I've never had a single encounter with Moon, it's even rarer for her to show you her true form."
"Oh," I simply said, unable to form coherent sentences as the weight of everything seemed to fall onto me.
"I can imagine you're quite tired, you've had quite the interesting few days." Sebastian stated, his thumbs rubbing soothing circles on the palms of my hands.
"Interesting hardly cuts it, Seb, she died." Benjamin said, as he stood. "And then proceeded to meet Moon, then come back to life," Catori added on her way out.
I made my way to stand , but immediately I was in his arms, and I opened my mouth to protest, but with one pleading stare I was silenced, and I snuggled into his embrace. I watched as he walked, eyes dead ahead, and I reached to touch his jaw, and he seemed to crumble under my touch. As we got into our room, he set me on my feet gently on the floor, and shut the door behind me. Our eyes met, and it was almost as though a thousand words were spoken through that glance. He was hurting, and I didn't miss the way his eyes glossed over as he ran towards me. Suddenly, his hands were cupping my cheeks. He searched my eyes for a moment, before his tongue began to search my mouth. His kiss was fervent and filled with passion, and our lips moved against one another in desparation for each other. I lay my hands against his hips, and allowed them to explore as my hands ran wild on his heavily muscled torso. With each curve and dip of his body that I explored, I could feel the electricity between us. My lungs burned with the lack of oxygen, but I didn't care. He pulled away from me reluctantly as we both stood there, breathing deeply as we simply watched each other.
"I almost lost you," he said, pressing his forehead against my own, closing his eyes.
"But you didn't," I said, offering a gentle smile, raising a tentative hand to his cheeks.
He groaned against my touch, and opened his eyes, staring into my eyes deeply, and he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me even closer. He pressed his lips into my own, and our lips engaged in a passionate dance. I felt him pull my legs up around his waist and I felt my back press against the sheets. I can't remember how long Sebastian and I were like this, but I fell asleep to his heavenly kisses.
