her and the gang played the little board games,
laughing and enjoying their time together,
though it was growing rather intense.
y/n couldn't stop her laughter from spilling over at their anger,
"use the fucking fire ball, will!"
dustin yelled.
y/n giggled but turned her attention back to the book in her hands,
soon growing absorbed in it completely.
it had been a book mike gave to her out of random.
"the giver."
it had been a book she couldn't put down.
new twists left and right.
a good book,
and y/n loved it even more since it was a gift from mike.
hours soon passed,
and y/n was now being wrapped into mikes arms for the night.
but she didn't put the book down.
she turned the pages,
growing invested,
and growing curious.
"you've been reading all day, love."
mike crooned hours later,
admiring her.
"oh..i'm sorry."
she blinked slowly,
placing her bookmark in the page to set it down.
she then turned her body to face him,
running her index finger down his cheek endearingly.
"mike."
"y/n."
"i'm falling in love with you,"
she admitted quietly with a smile.
"i'd hope so, y/n. i really do."

y/n went home the next day,
full of love and happiness.
but like always,
it drained itself from her body as soon as she entered through the door.
"good fucking job, y/n!"
her mother yelled,
the smell of cigarette smoke engulfing her and burning her throat.
"thanks to you and your fucked up lie, they're taking you!"
her heart dropped at the news,
and she suddenly couldn't find the air to breathe anymore.
