Portraying Mariati "Mara" Dei'Lacruz in three Marvel blockbusters - Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, and her newest film, Captain America: Civil War. Starring along side A-listers like Chris Pratt, Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, and more, Y/N has made herself a household name. Her character, Mara, is the space-traveling rebel with literal star-power. We were able to sit down with the young actress and find out more.
Q: "What is your favorite part about portraying Mara?"
Y/N: "Mara is one of the greatest written female characters I've ever seen. She's sweet and kind but strong and brave at the same time, and what she has been through has shaped her into an amazing woman. I love being able to play a character who is an obvious role model to young girls - and boys!"
Q: "Sources say you became very close with Chris Pratt. What's your relationship with him like?"
Y/N: "Well, it's not what you think. Chris is like my older brother - very protective of me! We tease and joke around, but at the end of the day, we're family."
Q: "Can you explain in detail what powers your character, Mara, has, and how she got the superhero alias, Spark?"
Y/N: "Well, without giving away too many spoilers, Mara can harness the energy of stars. She can basically summon star fire and star energy. That's why Rocket, her best friend, calls her Sparky, which turned into Spark."
Q: "In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mara and Quicksilver, aka Pietro Maximoff, have a amazing chemistry and a fiery romance. Do you share the same feelings your character does?"
A/N: in this story, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is not married and Quicksilver is alive and on Cap's side in CA: Civil War
Y/N: "Ha, no. As much as I love working with Aaron, we're nothing but close friends. Its as simple as that."
