"Kenta...you came"
TAKADA KENTA panted heavily as he hugged Haeun tightly, his other arm draped over the boy.
"Let me go!", the gang member spat, trying to break out of the police man's grip.
"You have the right to remain silent, sir. Anything you say can and will be held against you. Now, let's go", the police man ordered, dragging him away as the gang member continued to curse like there was no tomorrow.
"I'll get you, Kim Donghyun! And I'll make sure to get revenge on you, boy!!""Sir, he is gone now. Thank you for telling us ahead of time that one of the MK's was near. We'll make sure he doesn't get out and have his other men come after any of you", the police woman smiled, patting Kenta's back. "Have a nice evening"
When she felt, Kenta let go of the two of them and narrowed his eyes at the both of them. "You, what were you doing with that gang?", he asked harshly, staring at the younger boy.
"I-I needed money to pay for rent and my mom's hospital bills...my brother and I didn't make enough money so the best thing to do was to go to the MK", Donghyun mumbled quietly, looking down at his feet.
"Get financial support or get a higher paying job. Here", Kenta shoved a white envelope into his hands, looking at him. "It was my paycheck from the past month and it's not enough to pay for a hospital bill, but it's enough to pay for rent"Donghyun's eyes light up, ripping open the envelope to see 340,000 won inside. Tears formed in his eyes and some slipped down his cheeks. He gave Kenta a tight hug, leaving the Japanese boy to clear his throat and hug him back (very awkwardly, I might add).
"T-Thank you so much", he thanked, smiling through his damp face. "Thank you"Kenta nodded, pulling away and patted Donghyun's head. "Get going, it's late", he told him with a small smile. Donghyun nodded with his smile still plastered on his face, thanking Kenta once more before running out of the alley way, and vanishing from his sight.
"That was sweet of you"
Kenta chuckled, running his hand through his hair and turned around to face Haeun. "Do you think you're off the hook?", he asked almost mockingly, grabbing her hand and pulled her out of the alley way. Even though he heard her complain numerous times, that didn't stop him from dragging her to the nearest bus stop.
"Ow, ow, ow! Kenta stop!", Haeun shouted, ripping herself out of Kenta's grip, stopping in the middle of the park. "My ankle is killing me! And why are you mad at me?"
"It's your fault that your ankle is hurting you! And I'm mad at you because you didn't trust me and lied to me! Don't you understand that you could've gotten killed right then and there?!", he fired back, crossing his arms over his chest.
"And why do you care?! Two months ago you didn't even acknowledge my exsistance!"Two months ago is when I met you.
One month ago is when I saved you.Kenta groaned out of frustration, running a hand through his hair and closed his eyes tightly. "I care about you because you're the only person I have left to care about", he said quietly yet coldly, clenching his fists. "Everyone I loved died and I'm afraid that you'll leave me too. I know that it's only been a month but it's just that", he paused to take a sharp breath, opening his eyes to stare into Haeun's warmly.
"It's just that...you make me feel loved, something that I haven't felt in years"
Haeun stayed silent, looking down. "Who are you?", she asks quietly after a few minutes. "How are you always there to save me? Are you my Goblin?"
Kenta shook his head, taking off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders, pulling the hood over her head so she doesn't get snow in her hair.
"I'm not. I don't make people's wishes come true but instead the opposite. I'm sorry that I can't make any of your wishes come true", he responded with a sigh, stepping back.
