Barbara had went to the Batcave around the same time Batman left to save hostages at the mall after seeing Joker's live message to the citizens in Gotham. Dick was still healing from the last battle against Catwoman from the other night. Truth was Barbara was concerned about him so she wanted to check in on him. Dick lived with Bruce so she already knew that he would be in the Batcave trying to find the next spot Catwoman would go. Barbara changed into her costume before going over to see Dick. "What are you up to?" She asked him as she leans against the wall facing the batcomputer that he was on. Each monitor had a map with different locations of where Catwoman was striking each night but there wasn't a pattern which was driving Nightwing insane. "Bruce just went to the mall if you want to go catch up with him." He said while continuing to work. "I think he can handle those two alone. Can I help you with whatever your working on...?" Batgirl asked then Nightwing shakes his head. "I'm fine." Batgirl nods her head then heads to the upstairs area to find Alfred since no one necessarily needed her to help. Bruce and Dick have been in their own little worlds lately but they tend to forget that Barabara knew how to handle buisness herself. Alfred poured a glass of milk for Barbara then told her, "Don't let them have all the fun." She smiled softly as she watched him push the glass towards her with a chocolate chip cookie. Alfred knew how to make her feel better which made her nod, "Oh I won't, I promise. I better get home though. {Y/N} will be home soon. Tell Bruce I'll be back over the weekend if and when they actually need me." Barbara said before taking the cookie and drink. "Thanks Alfred."
The Next Day
Barbara couldn't believe she couldn't be there to save you yesterday which drove her nuts. She promised to keep you safe though so she went and turned on all of the security cameras that your father installed on the outside of the house except for one. You drag your feet against your carpet while sipping your tea in your glass. Barbara pats the seat next to her which you climb in to, she was watching a random station then the news from yesterday came on. "They could have at least kept the flash on so we could have seen Batman better on camera. Instead, they just captured that other freak holding my arms..." you said then turned your head away from the screen and back to your tea. Barbara frowned, "Batman isn't a freak...He saves people from other criminals. I agree that Two-Face is a freak but Batman isn't one. I'm sorry that this happened last night, (Y/N)... I should have been there." Barbara said as she felt that she let you down but you shake your head, "Barb.. you wouldn't have been able to do anything..." you said before hearing a knock on the door. ~That's what you think...~ Barbara thought to herself before jumping up to answer the door to see who was there. You hear Bruce's voice which made you quickly jump out of your spot on the couch and ran into your room closing the door. You locked the door then realized you left your tea in the living room. Why did you decide to run out of the room anyway? You face-palm yourself, before throwing something decent on yourself. You looked at the door with hesitation about opening it again. If you would have walked out that door two things could happen. One, Bruce will ask you how have you been holding up after the accident. Two, Bruce will ask you if you still wanted to go on a date with him. You silently debate with yourself before hearing a gentle knock on your door, "It's just Bruce, (Y/N). I will get you another tea and bring it to the room." Barbara said then you heard his voice again which made you feel calm. "If you want we can all watch some movies in the living room to take your mind off of things. I brought popcorn and movies." He said while sitting on the living room sofa next to Barbara. Your hand reaching for the doorknob you ended up watching movies with them for that night. It really did take your mind off of the past events that had happened. While watching the movies you couldn't help but continue to think about what happened the previous night. Bruce noticed that you weren't watching the movie again. Barbara was asleep during the movie then Bruce whispers, "How does hot chocolate sound and maybe we can talk outside on the front porch...?" He asked you then waits for your response. "Sounds good..." you said before nodding your head slowly then watched him get up to get you both cups of hot chocolate. Pulling the blanket over Barbara gently you get ready to walk onto the porch with Bruce. He beats you to the door to open it before handing your mug to you. You sit down on the porch chairs then cross your legs. Sipping your hot chocolate you then catch Bruce starring at you, "Do I have something on my face?" Bruce shakes his head, "Other than the whipped cream on your top lip. No. I just have a question is all. How have you been doing since the accident...?" He asked you but you look down into your hot chocolate starring at the marshmallows. "Well... I have been..." you sigh before finishing your sentence, "Wishing it didn't happen..." Bruce noticed the frown on your face, "I'm very sorry they attacked you, (Y/N)." You sigh then shake your head, "You couldn't have done anything... All I can see now is that man's face and him grabbing my arms tightly... He called me a 'Bitch'. He said that if they were to take someone they would have took me and make me go with them 'quietly'" She said then looked away to hide the tears that were falling down her cheeks. "Maybe my father was right I shouldn't have moved here, Bruce... Maybe it was all a bad call... Those criminals wouldn't have hurt those people at the mall if I didn't come here or Commissioner Gordon wouldn't have been beaten by that Two-Face man... This is all my fault.." You said before crying softly into your hands. Bruce put his mug down off to the side before embracing you in a hug while stroking your hair with his hand the other rubbing your back. "It's not your fault. None of this is your fault. There was no possible way for them to just go there because of you, {Y/N}. They didn't know you before last night so don't think that way... You're meant to be here for a reason. You'll show Gotham the good you will see in it even though you have only been here for a little bit of time. You will see soon that not everything here is bad. There's good still in Gotham City. But it'll take some time, {Y/N}. Just know that Barbara, Commissioner Gordon, and myself are all here for you whenever you need us." He said before pulling back to look at you. Bruce now wiping your tears away, you look at Bruce while he speaks softly to you. "Thanks, Bruce. I see why Barbara says you're a good friend," you said which makes him smile to you which you return. He returns back to his chair then looked at the sky filled with stars. "You both are probably the only friends I have here in Gotham. Everyone else doesn't understand me... Which is fine by me. It's hard to find people that actually connect well with me...It's like I'm different around Barbara and yourself, {Nickname}, and I love being Bruce Wayne around you both. You don't just see me as 'The Millionaire Playboy' which I appreciate because there's more to that guy....Anyways," He then sees the Bat signal then yawns, "I have to start heading home before Alfred starts to blow my cell phone up. Besides that I'm beginning to realize how tired I am after today. If you ever need to talk to me... You have my number. Have a good night, {Y/N}" He smiled then walks to his car then drives home. When you walk into the house you notice that Barbara was now in her room because she was off the sofa and everything was turned off. Her door was locked too so you decided to go into your room and head to bed. Barbara wasn't in her room little to your knowledge she was now Batgirl and saving lives with Batman.
