As The Cold Wind Blows

As the cold wind blows,
I think of you.
I think of how you broke me years ago.
How my life has changed.
How I'm still looking for my several pieces that got away.

As the cold wind blows,
I think of you.
I think of why you let me go.
Why you did not intend to wrap me in your arms,
Why you deprived me of feeling your warmth.

As the cold wind blows,
I think of you.
I think of what could have been if you have loved me true.
We could have been at our best.
We could have lived a life without regrets.

But as the cold wind blow abated,
My thoughts of you did not cease.
I think of you in the chills that left.
In the shards that came from what had been broken

And even if the cold wind no longer blows,
I still think of you.
From years ago until the day I can finally get over what we had.
