"She's waking!"

"Is she in any pain?"

"No, no. The meds we have her placed on has assured us."

"God, Mere. Please wake up."

Wake up

Wake up!

The stench of medical supplies makes my nose quiver in disgust. I've had enough of hospitals.

My eyelids slowly flutter open. Thank god it's not as bright as I'd thought it'd be.

"Oh, Meredith!" The voice I've grown to know as Luis chimes. I feel his warm hands caress my cheek in a brotherly manner.

"What—" I rasp out in pain.

"Shh, Mere. Take it easy," Ryan says stepping toward my bed. I sit up more despite the throbbing pain in my limbs.

I look around the room at the familiar faces. Ryan and Luis are right at my bedside. Ryder is sitting in a chair by the window while Jake is standing in the doorway.

"Philips?" I croak. Luis hands me a cup of water which I almost gulp down graciously, but he steadies the cup so I don't choke.

"They've been informed. They should be here in an hour or so," Jake informs. I nod at him and smile to which he returns.

The searing pain in my head had subsided a bit. How was it even there in the first place?

"What happened? Why am I here? Did something bad happen? Where's—REID? WHERE'S REID?" I ramble out. Thoughts from early slowly wedge their way into my fucked up brain.

"Shh, calm down. Calm!" Ryan pleads, but I'm not up for being calm!

"No! Where is he?! Guys?!" I'm crying at this point. Luis is trying so hard to wipe the tears from my face but I swat his hand away. My heart monitor going haywire in all the fuss.
