It's exciting, knowing that I have friends by my side pretty much 24/7.
We walk in, Hailey approaching us quickly as if she was waiting.
"Ew, you guys look like Skittles threw up on y'all." she giggles.
"I wouldn't talk, with yo grinch headass." I flick her forehead and continue walking.
she was wearing a green dress that reminded me of The Grinch.
"Want a drink?" Cameron walks up.
"Yeah. Thanks." he hands me the drink.
"Where's your date?" I ask, taking a sip.
"Didn't get one."
"What?! You're Cameron Fucking Dallas! What the fuck? How can you expect to walk into prom without some arm candy?" I shove him playfully.
Nate walks to me, "what happened?"
"Dallas doesn't have a date!" I shout.
"What?!"
"It's fine. I didn't wanna come here with a date. It's fine."
I then remember. "W-was it Mya?" I ask, scared for the response.
"Nah." he chuckles. "I told her I couldn't come with her since I just wanted to come alone."
"You look great either way, Cameron. I'm gonna go dance." I pull into a big hug.
"As do you. Bye." he waves me off and I head off to dance, pulling Nate with me.
We dance around for a bit, until a slow song comes on.

I stare into Derek's eyes as he stares into mine as we slowly dance, chest to chest.
"I-I love you, Diara." he suddenly says.
I widen my eyes.
"O-oh. I'm s-so-."
I interrupt him. "I love you too, Derek."
He smiles and leans in for a kiss.

the crowd cheers.
"I saw Hailey putting in a bunch of votes for herself."
I hear someone whisper.
"She's totally gonna win." i hear another groan.
