THEY ROSE FORTH
They rose forth clambering through the dungeons of darkness like malignant black vine beetles
From the depths of the secret earth they crawled towards the light that flickered above the ruptured earth in search of fear and avarice
They were not expected, nor welcomed by the creatures that walked upright in stature but bent over in unworldly consciousness and morality
The tall ones ran, scattering in all directions, from the ravenous vermin that erupted from the soil in order to feed their filthy hunger
The creatures fed well on the iniquity of man, a ready feast of sin, full of sensibilities and flavour, peppered with atrocity
Unprepared for such ravages, the upright beings succumbed without fight, surrendering life and limb to the vile creatures whose arrival had been forewarned
Those few who had taken note, had no need for flight, for they were summoned promptly to the purple tipped mountains and waited on their knees for the end to take them
Meantime the devilish creatures bested and vanquished those that remained; tearing them limb from limb and devouring their putrid innards
Thus the heavens opened and the lights of creation shone down as the ships that served recalled those that had held salvation close to their hearts
And the lost fell screaming to the blood-soaked soil and watched as the few were lifted by the rays of life and moved on to a new existence
Too late the blind man’s eyes were opened and he begged for a place in the sun with the children of the future
But the creatures of the earth laughed heartily, smothering his cries as they sat upon his face, soiling him with the faecal matter of those they had consumed before him
Thus the darkness took hold and the light was no more and the heinous creatures run amok on the land that was lost and ruptured by the demons who rose forth clambering through the dungeons of darkness like malignant black vine beetles.
