The world broke me down

The world made me cry out

The world made me want, wish, and hope to die

Yet, you never filled my ears with such lies.

You told me that when I was weak, then you were strong

You never left me, even when all I ever did was wrong

You were all I had, you were everything to me when I lost my dad

You gave me a reason to go on, and you showed me that I really am free

You took captivity captive, you did it for everyone, including me — how could you do that for me?

I am nothing. I am no one. But you —

Oh, you are faithful.

It is who you are, no matter where we have been

You are faithful, when you opened up your arms and welcomed us in

Lord, can I call you that?

You are so faithful, thank you, for washing away all of my sin
