* * *
I guess it is easier to forget,
Who we are and where we have been.
But I'll try and remember. This time, for you and for me.
Aren't we worth that much?
Isn't there treasure that lies in wait for scavengers to dig it up and make it shine again?
I think you and I, we are the diamonds and pearls of plundered kingdoms and lost fairy-tales, we are the jewels of dead princesses and jailed kings.
So I'll try and remember, where we left off, how we began.
I'll just advise you then, that what you see
may be covered in dirt and ash, and you may feel the prickling of pain and hurt, but this I want you to remember: that we are alive.
That somehow,
we made it.
