Things went back to normal for the pair. They were talking as they usually did. Riley was still way giddier than usual which was weird for Lola. He was always the type to be unnecessarily broody but soft with her. Riley loved to boss her around like he was her actual biological brother.
As they were walking to the cafeteria, she notices him stare extra long at someone nearby. Lola didn't even need to turn around to know who that was. She chews at her chapped lips to prevent any rude words from spewing out.
When they finally sit down with the rest of their group, Riley is completely attacked with questions. Samantha and Tyra were exploding with questions and were asking, "Where have you been?" and "You doofus we've missed you a lot."
Lola fights to not roll her eyes, remembering how they were constantly gossiping about how they were happy to not have Riley around. She bit her tongue though for the sake of his happiness.
After the interrogation finally subsided, Riley turns to her with a full-blown grin as the group continued to babble on without him.
"Hey sis, I want to tell you something."
I signal for him to continue.
"I'm going to ask out Victoria."
