Chapter seven

Skip to a week when the poem is due

Luckily we didn't have to read the poems out loud. It's an embarrassing poem.

Ally's been acting weird around me. She barley looks at me. When she does she stares at my lips and doesn't hear a word I say.

"You okay" I ask ally touching her shoulder.

She jumped and shrugged my hand off.

"Yeah" she said forcing a smile.

"Ok, good , do you want to hang out tonight , there's a movie that looks good we can go see it" I suggested.

"Can't me and Jake are actually going to the movies" she said.

We walked into the cafeteria. We volunteered to help with the dance. It was over the weekend. I frowned and looked at her.

"Are you sure your okay" I asked.

"I'm fine , stop asking" she snapped.

I took a step away from her. She put her hand over her mouth.

"I'm so sorry Dinah , I didn't mean to snap like that" she said touching my hand.

I took my hand away from hers.

"Its just , there's some one I like , like really like and I can't tell them" she sighed.

"You can tell me , maybe I can help" I said.

She shook her head. "Thanks though, there's Jake, see you later" she said rushing off.

I sighed and sat at one of the tables alone. I looked at the door and saw Camila come In.

She smiled and made her way over to me.

"Hey Dinah" she said sitting down next to me.

"Hey camila" I smiled.

"Do you have a date to the dance Saturday" she asked yawning.

I shook my head.

"I was asked by Shawn, I said no though, a bunch of me and my friends are heading in a group, your welcome to come with us" she said.

"No thanks, I'm actually not going , just here to help" I said shrugging.

"Oh okay, my friends are here , see you later" she said getting up.

I looked over at ally who looked bored out of her mind. Jake was talking to her but you could tell she wasn't listening.

Her eyes met with mine. She slowly smiled. My phone dinged from my pocket.

I grabbed it and grinned seeing it was Lauren.

To lo🏳️‍🌈💙: how hard?

Lo🏳️‍🌈💙: so hard she isn't straight anymore

"Anyone special" ally asked sitting next to me.

"Maybe" I grinned looking at her.

She had jealousy written on her face.

"Who's the lucky boy" she asked forcing a smile.

"Oh it's just Lauren" I laughed.

She blushed and laughed nervously.

"Here you can read what she sent" I laughed showing her.

She laughed harder than I did at the text.

"So I canceled my plans with Jake , so we can go to the movies together" ally said playing with her fingers.

"You didn't have to" I frowned.

"I wanted to , I want to tell you something tonight" she said and her face got red again.

"Good or bad" I raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know" she shrugged with a laugh.

"Ok, let's start" Mr. leo said coming into the cafeteria.

At the movies

Ally was acting different again. She was being nervous every second she got.

"I'll pay" I said.

"I'll pay" she said taking out her wallet.

"I don't mind" I said. 

"You can get the snacks" she said concentrating on something. 

I paid for the snacks she picked out. I got a slushee and a small popcorn.

Ally picked out a lot of candy. I helped her carry it to the theater. We sat in the back.

The theater was getting packed. We were seeing everyday.

"Let's take a picture" ally said taking out her phone.

I did a peace sign and duck lips. She did duck lips and she took the picture.

The lights dimmed and the movie started. I reached down in the popcorn bag and so did ally.

I glanced at her in the corner and she was biting her lip. I took my hand out so she could get some popcorn.

The movie was Almost done and it was amazing. I put my hand on the hand rester and so did ally.

She put her hand on top of mine. I tried concentrating on the rest of the movie but I couldn't.

Not with her hand on mine. The movie was over and we walked out.

"I thought the movie was good" ally said first.

"Me too" I said.

"So What did you want to talk about" I said wanting to know.

"Oh, well" she started but stopped.

She was staring at something behind me. I turned around and saw Jake. He was looking at us. He waved.

"Ally" he yelled. He waved her over. She groaned.

"It's okay, another day" I frowned.

"I'm sorry" she said walking past me.

As she walked past me she touched my hand.
