What makes you smile?

It's already nine o'clock at the evening and my phone start ringing that startled me. It was Astrid who's calling me.

"Hello?" I said, pinning the phone between my shoulder and my ear while wiping one of the used table.

"Yoohoo!" I heard Tori yelled from the other line.

"Ingrid? How're you doing?" Astrid asked.

"Oh? The shop is closing soon and... What's the plan? You still want to take me to a club, right?" I shrugged half-heartedly.

"Im glad you've asked sis! We're actually on the way there so, just wait for us. We'll be there before you know it, 'kay?" Astrid stated neatly and I can say that she's smiling while she talk.

"Wait! I guess, I need to change my clothes." I paused, furrowing my eyebrows. "Can I go to a fancy club, wearing a sweater and jeans?"

"You stop worrying little sis, just wait for us there." Astrid chuckled. "See you later!"

Before I said something else, Astrid already cut the call.

'Okay?' I muttered to myself.

I started cleaning the whole shop before anything else. The shop was empty for customers now and the only sound I hear is the smooth music coming from the speakers. The shelf for breads and sweets were nearly empty and the four leftovers is inviting me to eat them— maybe later.

I just finished washing the used coffee cups from the sink and after twenty minutes, the bell from the front door rang, startling me.

"There she is!" Astrid yelled. She's already wearing something fancy- an aqua-blue tight dress who hugs her curves, making her more sexier. Her soft brown hair is flowing down her shoulder and I can see the excitement on her natural face without make-ups.

Tori on the other hand is grinning widely behind Astrid, wearing a black coat with some fur in it's collar and a plain white shirt underneath, partnered with tight jeans and her high-heels she used for work. I also notice that she's carrying a crimson red dress with black linings on the chest, covered with a plastic and still on a hanger.

"Tadaaan!" Tori yelled and both of them started giggling.

"What is that?" I smiled.

"You can ask me if this is your dress." Tori scowls but there's sarcasm on her voice.

We both laughed.

"I guess this is the time were you get ready, Ingrid." Astrid finally spoke after scrolling on something on her phone.

"Yeah! You have some place to change here, right? Go on, put these and get fabulous!" Tori handed me the dress and pointed to a shoe box on a table.

"You brought all these?" I gasped but my smile never falters.

"You can thank us later! Go!" Tori beckoned me to go.

What's with the rush?

"I guess you should help her, Tori." Astrid suggested who is now sitting on a stool, busy with her phone.

"That's a good idea." So Tori started following me, slightly pushing my back.

After a short but refreshing shower from the staff room, Tori helped me to get dress.

The dress they brought for me is surprisingly pretty. It fits me well, especially, red is my color and it really gave me more confidence.

"Is it normal to be nervous because, it's my first time going to a crowd?" I asked Tori as she brush my hair softly, humming a song.

"It's peculiar, sis." She simply stated then continues to brush my hair.

It's a new thing for me, besides, I'm not that party-ready person. I read books, drink coffee, talk to cats, listen to music or try to compose mine. I feel butterflies in my stomach— what if I got drunk? What if someone, specifically a guy- a drunk one, say something sensitive to me? Is that what happens to movies?

"It's done." Tori stood up, flipping her hair. She smiles at me when she saw me. I return a smile then she beckoned us to go.

"Well, I'll be damned!" Astrid said with a cowboy accent, biting her lower lip. "You look so gorgeous!"

We giggled to each other.

"We all look gorgeous, if you insist." I stated.

"Well, let's rock!" Tori said, pulling my arm and I struggled because of the heels.

"Woah! I still need to close the shop, remember?" The both of them flinched as they stopped walking towards the car.

"Oh." Tori tilt her head, move her gaze infront of the still bright coffee shop and then added "Oh."

"Yeah, never thought 'bout that." Astrid shrugged.

My sisters reaction was priceless that made my lips twitch a little. My lips formed a smile and a silent laugh escape my breath.

"Just wait for me in the car, yeah? I'll be there in minute!" I wink at them, started walking with a rush but still careful not to fall.
