namjoon has caught a legitimate lead on hoseok, a lead that wont be enough to open the case back up, so he'll refrain from telling yoongi of his little adventure.. he'll spend his time looking for hoseok when yoongi is asleep and be with yoongi when he is awake.
for instance, now.. they're in the commons area playing chess.
namjoon enjoyed playing games which exercise his brain. right now he was winning by a lot. yoongi barely knew what he was doing but he knew enough to know that he was losing.
somewhere in the midst of the game, he whined and knocked down his pieces, then pouted and childishly crossed his arms over his chest.
namjoon thought the little tantrum was adorable, the behavior was drastic for a game though.
namjoon assumes yoongi was just being a sore loser so he playfully patted his back.
"awee. it's okay, you'll get me next time" namjoon chuckled
he expected yoongi to lighten up, but he only whined and pouted more, turning his back completely towards him.
namjoon was a bit taken back by the behavior, so he contemplated the best option to take course, and soon he decided.
"hey! want ice-cream?" namjoon asks
yoongi turns to him with glossy eyes and an evident pout.
"admin said no" he whines
"well im not the admin am i?" namjoon says
they both smile and get up to leave.
- they sat in namjoon's office, licking away at their cones.
"joonie?" yoongi asks
namjoon ignores the burst of warmth that erupted in his chest and replied "yes?"
"big yoongi wanted me to tell you something"
- the repeated dinging awoke hoseok from his sleep. he hadn't even gotten the chance to properly put clothes on and walk down the stairs.
the ferocious ringing worsened, which irritated the man.
"im coming!!" he irritatedly yelled as he scratched his side. his bed hair flopped up and down with the steps he took until he swung the door open to reveal a man with a stern look.
the confusion had hoseok fully awake by now.
"what are you? the cops?" hoseok scoffs
"yes" he says
"im here to question you about your younger brother, my name is namjoon" he concludes
"he's not my brother... he's a lunatic" hoseok folds his arms and shifts his weight onto one leg.
namjoon refrains from punching his head into the wall, and remains calm.
"may i please come in?" he asks politely
hoseok opens the door wider as a signal for him to come in.
now they're sat on the couch. hoseok is under the impression that namjoon is a cop, and or an investigator. but what confused hoseok, is that the case had already been solved.
"why are you questioning me years after the case was closed?" hoseok said
namjoon underestimated hoseok's intelligence, but he was more wittier.
"we are double-checking the evidence, leading to the deaths of your loved ones. if you don't mind sharing the traumatic experience, that is. we are just trying to ensure that the correct culprit is serving their sentence" namjoon said
hoseok complied with a nod to continue.
namjoon pulled out his notepad, which he brought along to make his persona seem more 'realistic'.
"where were you when the murder took place?" namjoon asks
"in my room after i came home from baseball practice, scared out of my wits" hoseok says
namjoon hums and writes something down.
"you didn't try and interfere when your parents were in distress?" namjoon asks
"no. i would not want to get in the way of a psychopath and his psychotic outbreaks, he's always been dangerous" Hoseok says
namjoon tries to control his anger, but he couldn't stand the way he was talking about yoongi.
"has yoongi ever been rambunctious like that prior to the incident?" namjoon asks whilst pretending to write something down on the notepad.
he was waiting for hoseok's reply, but it hadn't sufficed. he looked up at the man.
"you say 'incident' like this whole thing was a mistake. you aren't really an officer are you?" hoseok concludes
by now, namjoon had realized how badly he underestimated hoseok's intelligence.
he was caught up.
"you killed them" namjoon said
"no i didn't, that animal did"
that was it for namjoon. that was enough for him to leap across the sofa onto hoseok.
fists were thrown, kicks were swung. eyes were blackening, lips were busted.
but eventually, hoseok passed out, leaving him vulnerable to a drowsy and beaten up namjoon.
namjoon dragged hoseok's unconscious body to his car.
the car ride was awkward, hoseok's limp body kept sliding onto namjoon's with every turn. namjoon harshly swatted hoseok away so he'd lay in an uncomfortable position.
the duo arrive to the police station.
- "there better be a good reason why you're requesting a court date kim" the judge said
"yes sir, im trying to try re-open the Min Vs Min case" namjoon says in front of the attorneys and the judge
"that case has been solved" said the judge
"i believe the court made a mistake with the culprit sir" said namjoon
everyone in the room bursted into laughs.
"so you're saying, the forensics unit, fbi, private investigators, police officers, the judge, and the jury, all made a mistake?" the chief of the police department said
"yes" namjoon confidently said. it was too late for him to back out now
"so, this case should be re-opened, simply because you said that we punished the wrong man?"
"yes" another outburst of laughs
"see judge, this is what happens when you give inferior authority an ounce of real responsibility" the officer tells the judge
"you're what happens when too many sojus are involved" namjoon muttered
