Gabriel was sitting on the pier once again thinking about home. He came to realize that what everyone said was true. You can only miss something when you don't have it. His missed his family, no matter how blind or dysfunctional. Even if it was all an act to keep the family together and the kingdom in check he missed it all.

The sun was setting and Amell was no where to be found. He was home with Abigail and Emily. Gabriel left the house and went to the bookshop before going to the beach. He sat around all day reading all the human stories. He was fascinated by everything. The stories were like nothing he's ever read before.

Gabriel was most astounded by the love stories. That's what he's been reading. Nothing could compare of course, to his own story or even the story of his father.

Gabriel got up and took his satchel of books back to Amell's house. Abigail had begun to ask when Gabriel would marry. He had no intention of telling her about how he and Amell snuck around behind her back.

Everything was great. Gabriel couldn't be happier. For the first time in a long time he was truly happy.
