Before Percy found out he was a demigod or half-blood we were boarding school students at Yancy Academy. My mom told me that I was a demigod when I was nine. It was a lot to take in but I handled it well. I understood why I'm so different. She also told me Percy was a demigod but didn't know because his mom thought he couldn't handle it. So Percy was the one that needed a lot of attention. We were and are childhood friends. Back then we've never met.  So when my mom decided that we should go over to her friend's apartment the next door one Percy and I didn't say much. Then he blurted, 'I like you,'. I immediately punched him in the face. That was when he was six and I was five. Now we were twelve. Or at least Percy was twelve. I was eleven. My birthday was in summer break so I am younger than most people in my class. After all of those annoying and sarcastic years I finally had a more-than-friends feeling. And I have developed a sense of style with a silver streak in my hair. But he's claimed he's moved on. That made me a little disappointed but I didn't particularly mind. Then there is this super freaking annoying girl named Nancy Bobofit. She's a red head with freckles all over her face. She always throws sandwich bits at our friend Grover's hair. He has curly brown hair. And Percy and I thought that he was held back a few grades because he was the only sixth grader with acne and had the start of a beard. I knew what he was: a satyr. My mother told me. He was sent here to protect us from 'bad things'. And of course with Nancy always annoying us especially Percy he is always in trouble. Whether it's with Nancy, sudden outbursts, fighting, you name it. Right now he's on probation. And in a few minutes we would go on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to look at some ancient Greek things. Mr. Brunner our Latin teacher in a wheelchair told me to keep an eye on Percy so he doesn't get into trouble. He knows that I can keep Percy under enough control so that he wouldn't get into a lot of trouble. So when we got to the museum we looked at statues of the Greek gods and goddesses and looked at the pictures and paintings. Mr. Brunner was the leader of the tour while Mrs. Dodds was the chaperone. She was this pre algebra teacher from Georgia. Then we stopped at a picture.

"Mr. Jackson what does this picture represent?" Mr. Brunner asked. Percy explained it quite well. It was of Kronos eating his kids, the Greek gods. Then Nancy commented on why we would use this info in real life. But Mr.Brunner looked quite serious when he asked Percy and me surprisingly (not really) why we should know this. I was going to answer but I didn't know if I should say 'because we're demigods'. So my mouth hung open. I decided to walk over to Mr. Brunner and whispered in his ear. He looked shocked. I mouthed 'my mom'. He then nodded. "Correct," he said to the class. Percy looked angry.

"What did you say?" he grumbled. I looked at Mr. Brunner and pointed to Percy. He shook his head. I sighed. "Nevermind," he said annoyed and walked somewhere else. I looked at Grover for support.

"What did you say?" Grover asked in his reedy voice. 'Because we're demigods,' I mouthed. He looked shocked. And then I mouthed 'my mom,'. He nodded with sudden realization. Then Mrs. Dodds pulled me over.

"What did I do wrong?" I asked when I was in an empty room with her and Percy. She tugged at her jacket.

"We finally found you out Perseus Jackson and Claira Vega. Did you really think you could hide?" Mrs. Dodds asked very weirdly. It was like her voice was distorted and her eyes... that was when she transformed. I realized immediately what she was.

"Percy move!" I shoved him out of the way. Mrs. Dodds was... a Kindly One. A fury. She was a hag with bat wings and yellow fangs. Mr. Brunner then wheeled into the room. He got out two pens and tossed them to us. When one reached my hand it was a bronze sword with a blue tint in the metal and a blue hilt. I looked at Percy who was confused. Then he looked at his sword then got the connection.

"Hand it over Jackson!" the Kindly One yelled. We ran right up to the flying bat thing and jumped... I was carried by the wind. I lifted us to the Fury and sliced right into her. She disappeared in a cloud of yellow sand. We landed and I brushed myself from the remaining sand. Percy was smiling.

"Pen cap please," I held out my hand to Mr. Brunner. He smiled. He gave it to me. I looked at the sword first. I saw an engraved word on the hilt. "You gave me Loremaestus?!" I yelled. Mr. Brunner only laughed then nodded. Loremaestus was the Greek word for Bluetide one of the many famous swords. "Let me guess," I pointed to Percy. "...Anaklusmos?" I said. Mr. Brunner nodded eagerly. I recapped Bluetide and tossed Percy his pen cap. He caught it and studied his sword. Then Grover came walking in with his crutches. He has crutches, jeans and fake feet to hide his satyr self. He then saw the situation. He saw Percy's sword and my pen. And Mr. Brunner's face. He whispered in Grover's ear. Then he looked at us.

"Come on guys. The buses are loading," he said. We gave him the pens and loaded. When we were back at Yancy I caught Percy listening to a door. It was Grover and Mr. Brunner. Talking about Percy. Grover sounded worried and Mr. Brunner was trying to ease him. They were talking about him being a demigod but left the most key parts out that Percy stormed out before they finished the conversation. If only I could tell him. But then he wouldn't believe me or think I'm crazy. I don't want either of those to happen.
