A coast gaurd picked us up and rode us to shore in his boat. He was so distracted by distress calls. All four of us were sopping wet even me and Percy. Both of us willed ourselves to get wet when the coast gaurd picked us up. Once we reached the beach I looked to the horizon. The buildings were burning against a colorful sunrise. I could feel the pressure on my heart seeing my mother. But I was still confused. She looked solid and normal as if she had skin and stuff. But I could deal with that later. I'll see her and get her back soon enough.

"I can't believe it. We went all that way-"

"We were tricked. It was a strategy worthy of Athena," Percy looked at her.

"Hey," she warned. I stepped in front of her.

"But you get it don't you?" I asked. She nodded. Grover shook his head.

"Well I don't! Will somebody-"

"The prophecy was right. You shall go-"

"Don't say the line or I might go crazy again," I cut in. "Anyway. We would ya know go west. But it wasn't Hades. Hades didn't want war between, well, him and his brothers. Someone else stole it. Someone stole the bolt and the helm then blamed Percy because he isn't as special as me and wouldn't have been sensed as easily as me. Poseidon would be blamed by both sides. By sundown there will be a three-way war. And Percy'll have caused it." Grover still didn't get it.

"But who would be that sneaky? Who would want war that bad?"

"Gee let me think," Percy said. He turned around. I did too. There he was with his biker gear.

"Hey kid. You were supposed to die," Ares greeted us.

"You tricked me. Tricked us. You stole the helm and the bolt."

"Well I didn't steal them personally. You're not the only hero in the whole world who can run errands,"

"Who did you use? Clarisse?" Percy asked.

"Wait was it-" I started.

"Possibly Claira. I know you've suspected that kid in the very beginning," Ares smirked.

"Who?" Annabeth looked at me.

"L-"

"Doesn't matter. You're impeding the war effort. You were supposed to die in the Underworld. Then Old Seaweed would be mad at Hades. Corpse Breath would have the bolt so Zeus'll be mad at him. And Hades would still be looking for this," Ares took out a ski hat. He put it between the handlebars of his bike. It immediately turned into-

"The Helm of Darkness," Grover gasped.

"Exactly. Now where was I? Oh yeah. Hades will be mad at Zeus and Poseidon because he won't know who took this. Pretty soon we'll have a three-way slugfest," Ares grinned.

"But they're your family!" Annabeth yelled.

"Even better! Those are the bloodiest!" Ares yelled. Then Ares decided to test out that theory with Percy. They were going into classic. But before they did Annabeth gave him her necklace.

"Reconciliation. Poseidon and Athena working together," she smiled.

"And take this. Satyrs are with you," Grover gave him a flattened tin can. And before he could turn to Ares I ran to him and flung my arms around him.

"And just remember this-" I kissed him on the forehead. "-I love you," I whispered into the crook of his neck. When we pulled away we shared one more look. Then Percy faced Ares. A little while after Percy made this six foot tall wave crash onto Ares. And Riptide finally connected with Ares' skin. But Ares warned Percy that he has made a sworn enemy. Then Ares disappeared and only left the helm. Then the Furies came in. I didn't see them fly here but they were here and they saw the whole thing. They took the helm and went to Hades.

"Percy that was-"

"Terrifying," Annabeth cut Grover off.

"Awesome!" Grover corrected.

"More terrifyingly awesome," I walked over to Percy and hugged the crap out of him. "Are you hurt?" I asked. He shook his head. I smirked. He got his backpack that still held the bolt.

"We have to get this back by tonight," Percy said.

"That's impossible unless we-" Annabeth started.

"Fly," Percy finished. I started to get uneasy.

"Fly in an airplane where we could both be blown to bits while you carry a weapon more destructive than a nuclear explosion?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. Exactly like that. Come on," he said right after I smacked him upside the head.
