Dear XXXXXX,
When you said that you could probably come to my sixteenth birthday party, it made me really happy. It gave me more hope compared to when my brother said that you weren't sure if you could go.
I don't know if you understand how crestfallen I was when you didn't come. The fact that you had a large chance of coming because you said it sounds really fun made me look forward for the party even more. I even messaged you to ask you where you went, and you didn't reply until two days later, saying in a span of three messages that you were really sorry you couldn't come, but hoped that I had a good time. I never got to tell you that I got the album of one of your favorite bands as a birthday gift. To this day, you still don't know.
