Through the Looking Glass

Alice fell down the rabbit hole and tumbled to Wonderland
Wendy followed Peter Pan and flew to Neverland
I sit here reading there tales and hoping for something more
Every mirror I pass I look past; Looking through the Looking Glass
There is Alice drinking tea with Hatter and me
There is Wendy singing the Lost boys to sleep with Peter and me
But here on this Earth there is no such thing as Lost Boys and Red Queens
Here there is war and pain and suffering
Here there is cruel deaths and horrible things
I wish to pass through the Looking Glass to their worlds of fun
I could sit with Alice on grass of green watch the cards paint a pretty scene
I could run with Wendy through the woods laughing as Hook fails all coulds
Oh how the Looking Glass world would feel
Fun and enticing and welcoming to all
But stories are stories and we all must fall
Reality drags us back to the pain of it all
We claw and claw but always fall
Time to face reality child you are now an adult
No thoughts of Neverland with Peter Pan
No thoughts of Wonderland with Hatter
There is nothing but this world and this world alone
No looking through Looking Glasses to see other worlds
We all must grow up they say and break our mirrors
But I refuse to be change my ways
I fix my mirrors and go to Wonderland
I jump out the window following Peter Pan
Because like the stories say you must grow up but you can still follow stories to better yourself
So travel through stories and through the Looking Glass
They will make sure your happiness lasts

A/N: I grew up with Alice and Wonderland and Peter Pan so I really hold this poem I created close to my heart. Never grow up my friends, and always follow white rabbits no matter where they lead. :)
