Depressed faces walk in lines marching toward the end
Friends consist of likes and follows but never true friends
Push back the pain pill by pill
Numb the brain with every cloud of smoke
We are the generation to lead this nation
We are the nation to fix the mess
Our Earth is dying and our country is falling apart
School shootings become the daily
Taking drugs is a way to stay sane
We try our best to pass each test because grades validate us
The news says we are so misfunctional so depressed
It's true
We are addicted to everything that we are givin
Followers, likes, drugs, and juels
But that's not totally our fault
We are raised with the pressure to always be better
Raised with pressure to fix the world, to do better than you ever could
We are just kids growing up to fast
Taking in tasks that we alone can't fulfill
We feel like failures
We feel hopeless and lost
We become sucidal trying to help others but ignore our own problems
The generation who is supposed to be salvation is breaking down under too high expectations
We try to help others but we can't even fight our own demons
We don't communicate like we used to before
Friends are now driven by streaks and double taps
Our generation is the people of technology
But our psychology is lacking and we are breaking down while we build what you want
We build resumes to get into a fancy college
We pass every test but don't keep our knowledge because to us our future is determined by an A
The only thing we learned is that the world is depressed and it's our turn to fix it
But how can teens who are suicidal save a world?
We can't save ourselves let alone, you
But pressure keeps mounting and eventually we will break
We are the next generation
The generation that is supposed to fix your mistakes
But how can we, if we ourselves believe we are mistakes
