"The people who were not tested in this Dunya will wish their skins were cut up when they see the rewards for those who were tested".

Normal POV:

She cried in agony as she saw her Dad's only memento shattered into bits. Her heart ached to witness her Dad's precious birthday gift which now remained just a broken piece of glass.

She stretched her hands out to reach the piece of glass and held it firm in her palm, trying to find peace to her broken heart.

She held it closer to her heart savouring the memory. She felt a deep pain as the glass pricked her palm. She hissed in pain as her blood oozed out, but nonetheless she cared.

She never left the glass piece, holding it more firm. Her rigid grip in turn broke the already broken piece into tiny crystals of glasses. She sobbed harder as she witnessed her palm fully comprised of blood.

He clenched his fists as he tried to calm himself down but failed miserably as her misty eyes roamed in his mind leaving him restless.

He stood by the door hearing her sobs which invoked him to check on her. Gathering some courage, he peeked into the room and rushed to her letting out a groan as he witnessed her wife gone completely out of her mind.

He held her hand in his, inspecting the wound as he sends a glare at her.
She tried to release her hand from his grip but failed miserably as his grip was strong when compared.

She struggled to seize her hand from him, but her stubborn husband never let her do so. His glare frightened her when she attempted to run away from him.

"Stay still" His anger laced command was enough for her to stay rooted to her seat. She could not find the courage to disobey this monster in front of her.

Her monstrous husband or so she assumed HIM to be, inspected the wound and on the contrary, he declared that the wound was in the urgent need of doctor's attention.

Ayaan's POV:

She sobbed all the way along as the doctor carefully inserted the needle onto her palm, inorder to remove the shredded glass.

She hissed in pain as the piece of glass left her skin. She tightened her grip on my hand while she simultaneously rested her forehead on my upper arm leaving me breathless.

My breath got hitched for once as she placed her head on my chest, her sobs invoking the guilt in me to reach the heights.

She mourned in displeasure as he bandaged her wounded palm. I felt restless when she distanced herself away from me. I felt empty all of a sudden while my heart missed her touch.

Her head on my chest was so relaxing and soothing such that I craved for more. I stole a glance at her as she silently was staring at her wounded palm.

I handed the prescription to the driver, commanding him to buy the prescribed medicines from the hospital's clinic nearby. I sat beside her who was busy in her trance, such that she didn't even paid attention to my presence next to her.

I looked at her who had her head rested on the window while her eyes were fixed on the road. Unknown to myself, I crawled more beside her.

Our arms slightly touching now, my eyes roamed around her petite frame.
My strong built posture perfectly matched with her tiny one, as if we were made for each other.

As my arm brushed her's, she was out from her reverie as her head snapped at me. Taking it as a chance, I looked onto her eyes which screamed pain.
