Your POV

"There may be trouble ahead," Mike's voice echoed across the stage. "But while there's moonlight and music and love and romance."

"Now, fade the spot." Buster told Meena. I was sanding next to her as I worked the other smaller lights.

"Let's face the music and dance."

"Good," he told Meena. "Lower the moon."

"Coffee?" Miss Crawley handed Buster a cup as Meena walked over to the lights.

"Thank you, Miss Crawley." There was a loud cranking noise from behind us. "Okay, that's normal." He referred to the ropes. "Just needs a knock." Meena knocked. "See? You're getting it."

"And while we've still got a chance."

"Anyone seen my glass eye? The darn thing keeps popping out." Miss Crawley asked.

I watched in disgust as Buster spit out Miss Crawley's eye. It bounced off of a light and hit a lever, causing a whole rack of lights to fall onto the stage next to Mike, who screamed in horror. Mike looked right at me and Meena.

"You almost killed me, ugly!"

The name didn't bother me much at all. I've been called worse before, but it was the fact that he blamed it on me. That's what stung.

"It wasn't her." I heard Meena say.

My jaw dropped. Never in my life had anyone stood up for me.

"Was it you, then?!"

"It wasn't me!"

"Oh, is that so?!"

The two of them screamed as the lights went up in flames behind them. Meena grabbed a fire extinguisher and lit out the fire.

"Pete?" Buster said, making me look at Pete who was laying on the floor in pain. A few moments later he was in a ambulance being sent to the hospital.

I looked out the window and sighed as the three frogs left the Theater, ready to quit.

"All right." Buster said as I followed him back into the main room. "We're two acts down. Give me some good news, Miss Crawley."

"Oh, it's not as bad as it looks-" The chameleon fell through the floor. "Oopsie-daisy."

Buster sighed. "Meena, how would you like to re-audition for the show?"

I didn't hear the next few lines of their conversation, as I was busy having one with myself. This was my chance to be in the show. They were down two acts, they needed more. Yet, I couldn't seem to bring myself to say the words.

I heard the Japanese pop music that could only mean the red panda girls were here.

"Great! Look, there back!" He said. "Uh, were gonna come back to this, Meena." He said before running off. I held back a sigh. I would never get that chance to sing....
.
I had made my way upstairs to help Johnny with the Piano. I sat silently as he played. I couldn't help but gaze up at his face a few times. No matter how many times I did, I couldn't seem to figure him out. Why was he different from all the rest?

My thoughts were broken when he messed up on a few notes and smashed his fists against he Piano. I couldn't help but cringe a bit.

"Yes, that was very bad." Miss Crawley said.

I jumped as the sound of static filled he air. Johnny quickly got up and walked towards his coat. Even with the loud shuffling of his feet, I was able to hear the sound of a mans voice.

"Oh, Johnny, you're jackets talking." Miss Crawley said.

"Johnny, where are you?" I heard faintly.

"Dad, what's going on? Over." Johnny said, turning away from us. I could help the thousands of thoughts that flooded my mind. Who was he talking to?

A few moments later he was walking down the stairs, trying to leave the Theater.

"What do you mean, you gotta leave now?" Buster asked him.

"I know. I'm... Im so sorry. It's just, I've got this family business thing-"

"-Do I need to start worrying about your commitment here, Johnny? Tell me no."

"No. Absolutely not. I promise it won't happen again."

"It better not."

"Thank you, Mr. Moon." And Johnny ran out of the theater.

I couldn't help but let the bad thoughts in my head start to take over. What if he had just made that excuse because he didn't want to be by me anymore? That had to be it. No one ever lasts. So why did I actually have hope for Johnny?
