A/n: Thank you all for 200 votes! Way to bring a grin on my face while I type a rather sad chapter...just kidding! Not that the chapter will be upbeat, but the smiling is real don't worry. Anyway, let's get on with the chapter shall we? Also, this chapter is dedicated to dFwmiAoP654 who is one of my real life friends!

Rhys' POV:

Hobi has been in a slump the entire week.
He shunned everyone,
Barely came out to talk,
And just...wasn't him at all.
Recently, I had been trying to get him to talk to me.
But it's gotten to a point where Jimin has been staying in my room because Hoseok doesn't want to be bothered.
Sometimes when I pass Jimin and Hoseok's room I can hear soft sobs, as if one were trying to be quiet...but failing ultimately.
I grew concerned.
He's turning into you.
Was all I could process.
We shared the same tendencies,
Same attitude,
Same emotions....
That fact only made me want to talk to J-Hope more.
Gaining the confidence to fight off his negativity, I knocked on his door.
"Hobi-hyung?" I called, knowing Hobi was his favorite of nicknames.
No reply.
Sighing, I tried once more.
No response.
Again, I continued.
Nothing.
Growling impatiently, I rammed into the locked wood.
My shoulder becoming slightly bruised.
It popped open.
And a scene of destruction came into view.
I gasped at the sight.
It was as if a hurricane flew through the area.
Papers thrown everywhere, shelves knocked over, bed sheets tossed around....What had happened.
Hoseok sat in the corner.
Dried marks of tears under his red puffy eyes.
"Hobi-hyung, I want to talk-" I started but was soon cut short.
"No you don't! Go away!" The older screamed.
I was taken aback by this.
A frown hurting my once neutral face.
"Hyung, please...Everyone is worried." I begged.
"No they're not! No one cares for me, not even the ARMY!"
Those words shattered my heart.
My frown growing deeper.
"They call me ugly! Say I look like a horse! Say I'm a bad person!" He yelling died down. "Am-Am I a bad guy?" He asked, voice trembling, gazing at me like a lost child.
I made my way over to him, kneeling down once close enough. "No, why would you think that?" Bringing my arms to hold Hobi as if to secure him.
He hiccuped against my chest, tears dampening my shirt.
"Be-Because they say I-I'm," He fumbled his pronunciation.
I soon hushed Hoseok. "What they say doesn't matter."
"But, but they're our-our fans..."
Shaking my head I contradicted him. "Would fans do that?"
————————————————————————
Hoseok's POV:

I leaned on Rhys' chest.
His heartbeat drumming into my ears.
"Would fans do that?" He questioned.
I sniffled. "N-No."
The maknae smiled. "Then there's no point in listening to them is there?"
It wasn't the question that made me feel better.
His smile.
His damn smile.
Though he may deny, Rhys' smile could light up an arena if given the chance to.
I shook my head in response, my brain still enchanted by the boy's actions.
All was well, here in Rhys' arms.
Warmth flooding my body as he gripped onto me.
"Rhys?"
"Hm?"
"Where did you learn to comfort people like this?"
The younger's smile changed from happy to full of sorrow.
I flinched, his radiance now fading.
"I've been through a lot," Rhys mumbled. "I don't want any of you to fall into what I did...It hurts too much."
"Rhys..." I gaped.
Running his fingers in my hair, he sighed. "It's not a good thing to see, especially when I can't call others out....I'd be a hypocrite if I did."
I clutched onto his arms. "You're not a hypocrite. You're our shield remember."
A dribbled of liquid fell onto my head.
"You know...sometimes I wonder why I gave myself that title."
Rhys was crying.
My own tears had been long gone, finding comfort in the maknae's words.
But now, he needed the comforting.
It was then I realized he was not only embracing me to help calm me down, Rhys was hugging for himself too.
"Some sucky shield I am." He laughed sorrowful, like he was in pain.
My heart stung and his tone.
He was still only a kid, and yet he held a million types of misery.
"Don't say that! You've protected Bangtan the best you could." I tried to console him.
"Then why couldn't I protect you! Huh?!" He yelled out of character.
"You've been locked away for a week! You've been in your room away from everyone!" He paused, voice cracking. "Because I wasn't there to stop you from seeing that bullshit!"
It felt like rain was precipitated onto my hair, Rhys' weeps of frustration resonated throughout the room.
"I-I'm sorry, hyung. I couldn't-I couldn't protect you..."
Sighing, I brought a hand to wipe his tears, cupping Rhys' face.
"Rhys?"
The boy looked at me.
"You know how you said we treated you like glass?"
He nodded.
A smile placed itself on my lips. "Glass shatters."
"So when you break, I'll pick you up no matter how many cuts I'll get."
