Did I set my alarm right? Pero ba't parang naunahan ko pa alarm ko? Instead, I was woken up by a text message.

From: Tots ☺️
"Good morning! Heard you have a game today, so good luck!"

And the message was 6:44 AM. I'm supposed to wake up at 8:00 AM but this text message woke me up at 7:00 AM.

I stood up from my bed, and went through the bathroom for morning rituals, yes, my phone's still in my hand. I glanced up at the bathroom mirror and saw myself smiling.

Its been a few weeks since we met and the same number of weeks since we started texting each other. Yeah. She's nice, I can say, sweet, I guess? She's also thoughtful, that's for sure, and she always makes me laugh, every time we got the chance to exchange messages.

Just recently, I always caught myself, or the others, smiling at my phone. That's when I realize that I was smiling to her first text message for the day.

So before I begin my morning rituals, I texted back.

To: Tots ☺️
"Thank you! Same as you, good luck sa duty!"

She mentioned yesterday that she has duty today, so I am not expecting any replies from her.

So, anong gagawin ko for an hour? Leche kasi yang text eh, aga ko tuloy nagising. So I prepared breakfast, tried to do it slowly, kasi ang boring talaga if wala akong gagawin. I still have time to spare. What to do? What to do?

Nakapag linis naman na ako ng condo, nakapag dilig na ako kagabi. Nakapag palit na rin ako ng sheets last week, mamayang gabi ko pa makukuha yung laundry ko. Anuna? I might die because of boredom.

I opened my Instagram and unang una sa stories ko is yung kay Tots. I watched it and saw her in uniform. Then her caption was "7:30 Duty" tapos may GIFs na mukhang tinatamad.

I closed it and viewed other IG stories.

Game day. Nandito na kami ngayon sa venue, and we're just waiting for the time to officially start. We're done with our stretches and warm ups, also with calisthenics na din.

So we're doing drills na with the balls, spike receive muna since both teams gumagamit nung court. Ka-pepper ko si ate Je ngayon and siya muna papalo sa akin. Nung pagka palo niya, na-misreceive ko, so ayun, pulot ko.

I saw my family sa audience and they were cheering for me. I waved back at them. Sinong hindi gaganahan kapag sila magche cheer sayo di ba?

Nagbuzzer na, so set aside muna kami since magspiking drills na yung kabilang team.

"Hoy Ced," Cza called me while I was fixing my shoelaces.

"Maka-hoy 'to. Hoy ka din, Cza. Bakit nanaman?" I replied.

"Blooming mo today, bakit?" She questioned.

Ha?

"Ano? Hindi ah. Its natural kaya, hindi ka pa ba nasanay?" I answered.

Then she pulled our nearest team mate she could ever reach.

"Ate Gel, ang blooming ni Ced no?" She asked Gel.

Gel stared at me for a moment. Pwede ba Cza, tigilan mo ako sa kalokohan mo.

"Ay oo nga. Anong meron, Ceddy?" She asked me, while wiggling her eyebrows.
