*Your POV*

"Oh yeah, move to New York! The land of crime! What a great idea!" I mocked my mom in my head, as I put on a brave face. Leave it to my mom to make me move in the middle of my sophomore year of high school.

Now here I was, trapped in the school library, while a school shooter was free in the building. As if things couldn't get worse. There were only 5 students and 1 librarian in the room right now, and we were all crouched behind desks and book shelves. I saw my friend MJ look back diagonally at me from the bookshelf across the room. She was one of the very few friends I'd made in the months I'd lived here. 2 gunshots sounded, and I flinched. Footsteps could be heard coming towards the library, and I held back the lingering feeling of screaming. None of the other students were visible from where I was, except for MJ and Peter. Peter was in the aisle next to mine, and he looked me in the eyes as the doorknob jiggled at the front of the library. He held up a finger as if telling me "shh". He shook his head to himself and unzipped his backpack. The sound of the zipper seemed insanely loud because of how quiet it was. I wanted to yell at him to stop, but froze when he pulled out the red mask. He quickly slid out of his hoodie, and I saw the unmistakable Spider-Man suit underneath. It took me a second to realize that the footsteps were coming from inside the library now. They were insanely close to me.

"Oh god. Oh god." I thought to myself. Just as the gun became visible beside my head, it was gone in a flash of red and blue. The sound of shooting webs and gunshots could be heard, but I kept my head to the ground, shaking with fear.

"Hey." His hand on my shoulder and his voice startled me, and I stumbled backwards. "I got him. He's stuck to the wall. Can't reach the gun. It's ok."

"Peter—I. I—I—" I hugged him then, holding onto the Spider-Man suit for dear life. When it finally sunk in, I pulled away.

"How the hell are you Spider-Man?" I mumbled, and he shrugged.

Eventually the police arrived, and Peter slipped away. One person was injured, but thankfully no one died. The police were quick to interview me.

"You said Spider-Man saved you? How'd he get into the library?" The cop asked, and I paused in thought for a moment.

"He crawled through the window. He has amazingly fast reflexes. I'd be dead without him." I answered, noticing Peter watching me, wearing his hoodie and jeans once again. He smiled.

Later that night, as I sat in bed, I heard a knock on my balcony. I climbed out the window, and saw Spider-Man chilling on the ledge.

"Peter?" He jumped at the sound of my voice, but caught himself on the railing above. "Thank you for saving me."

"Oh it was nothing. I just wanted to tell you...well maybe I could show you?" He seemed to be asking himself more than telling me.

"Yeah?"

"Can you come here?" He asked. I took a step forward, and looked at the mask. The web he'd used to steady himself on the railing above tightened on his command, and he slid upside down, holding onto the web, with his feet resting on the bottom of the balcony above. He watched me upside down, and I pulled up his mask. Not just his lips, but so that I could see his brown eyes and curls, and I held the mask in my hand. It was a silky texture, soft even. He blinked as he watched me, and I found myself leaning in to kiss him.

"I've wanted to do that forever." Peter murmured when I pulled away.

"What, kiss a girl upside down? Or kiss me?" I joked.

"Both." He grinned. He flipped back over and dropped from the web. He landed on his feet, and for the first time I noticed how tall he was compared to me. He pulled me in close by the nape of my neck, and kissed me harder than I kissed him. I smiled into the kiss. Looks like I snatched myself a date with Spider-Man.
