Chapter Three

"So what's your name again?" Tanong nya habang naglalakad kami sa isang malawak na hallway papunta sa kung saan.

I never gave her my name though.

Is it even safe for me to tell her~ or anyone my name?

"Ireneia" sagot ko sakanya. I know I need to fight off  those thoughts but I also know that I need to guard myself from any possible danger in this world.

"Ang ganda naman ng name mo! Me jealous na!" She enthusiastically said sabay lambitin sa braso ko.

Tumigil ako sa paglalakad at tinitigan ang braso nyang nakalingkis sa braso ko. Why do I feel uncomfortable? Kailan ba mula noong huling may pinayagan akong lumapit at humawak saakin? I can't even remember now.

She must've noticed the way I'm staring a her arm on mine kaya natigilan din sya and as if on cue, she slowly removed her arms mula sa pagkakalingis nito sa braso ko.

"Ah hehe. Sorry, na carried away lang ako." She said.

Tumango na lang ako at nagpatuloy na sa paglalakad kahit hindi ko alam kung saan kami papunta. I know I should not, but I can't stop myself from blaming my past for being so distant and withdrawn from anyone. Maybe, it all just stems from the need to protect myself from danger.

"Saan ba ako magsisimula? Okay let's start from the start. Hahaha kalito ba? Here it goes, this place kung saan nakatayo ang HCA ay tinatawag na Heleina Cross City of Magic. May tatlong division ang City na toh. Ang Hile Cross Main City, ang Crossville South City at ang Pyske Center City. Ang Hile Cross Main City ang center of economy ng Heleina Cross. Nandito ang schools, mga shops at kung ano-ano pang mga anik anik. Name it and you can see it here. Ang Crossville naman ay ang center of production ng buong Main City. Mga farm lands at mga factory kung tawagin sa other world. Lastly, ang Pyske Center City. This is where the royalties live. Sa palasyo ng mga Pyske- Demitri."

Nanatili akong tahimik na nakikinig sa mga sinasabi nya.

"So sa sunod na factor naman tayo. Ang mga division ng mga tao."

That caught my attention.

May division ng mga tao?

"Haha. Yup! Meron din. Syempre lahat ng tao dito ay Mages. Meaning lahat tayo dito may magic. We all possess different kinds of Magic. It could be an element or a minor charm. From the word itself 'element' means fire, earth, water, and land while yung mga minor can be as weird as having the ability to grow multiple eyes on your own body or having the ability to shift into different kinds of animal. But of course kahit pare-pareho tayong may magic iba't-iba naman ang level natin. Nandyan yung mga nasa level Stone, Steel, Bronze, Gold, Diamond and the Royalties. Bawat isa satin makakakuha ng medal na nakalilok sa respective levels natin. That will be our identification. Nangyayari ang leveling every end of the quarter. Since nakaabot ka pa 2 months before the leveling may time ka pa para mag training. I'm a Bronze holder by the way."

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad when she suddenly grabbed my shoulder. She smiled bago nya ako tinulak palapit sa isang nakasarang pinto.

"Nandito na tayo sa first class mo. Since None holder ka pa lang you will need to under-go training para sa mga begginers with Master Heroge. Bye Ireneia! Goodluck!"

After she said those words mabilis na tumakbo na sya paalis leaving me infront of the closed door in front of me.

Classes? Agad-agad?

They wouldn't even let me settle in?

Am I even ready for all of these?

Obviously left with not an ounce of choice, bumuntong-hininga na lang ako bago ko kinakabahang iniangat ang kamay ko para kumatok sa pinto.

Pero bago pa man lumapat ang kamao ko sa pinto ay bigla na itong bumukas.

"Get inside young lady. The class will start soon."
